EXO-CBX Behind the Scenes for ‘Blooming Days’

EXO’s subunit held their comeback showcase on April 10. Xiumin, Baekhyun, and Chen shared backstage moments while preparing for their album. They also gave fans an update on their schedules.

The subunit compared “Blooming Days” with their first album “Hey Mama.” According to Soompi’s report, the members thought of the first album to be full of funky vibes and silliness. This time, “Blooming Days” brought out the youthful and cool vibes from them. They also revealed that it was a unanimous decision for “Blooming Days” to be the title track.

In the showcase, Baekhyun said that there was quite an issue with the rain of flowers. While filming, he mentioned the saying “Don’t hit people even with flowers.” Chen admitted that back then, he wondered why Baekhyun said that. It turns out that for the flower rain part in the MV, the rain of flowers actually hurt. “…I thought it was hailing. It really hurt,” Chen said. Baekhyun pointed out that in the MV, viewers could actually see Chen flinching.

More Goofiness

The trio also gave light on one of the photos included in the mini album. The said photo showed them all crouched on the slanted ground. EXO-CBX joked that the concept of the photo was that they were all short and small. But, what’s funnier is the backstory of their expressions. Baekhyun told the story of how they all ended up with pouty faces. It was all because the food arrived just before the photo was taken. Xiumin added that their expressions stood for “Ah, I hope the noodles don’t get soggy.”

Before the showcase ended, the trio updated their fans on what they’ve been up to. The subunit opened up the ‘SMTOWN’ concert in Dubai. They were also busy shooting a car CF and filming footage for a concert VCR.

Lastly, Teen Vogue featured EXO-CBX for their snazzy makeup looks in the “Blooming Days” MV. EXO-CBX is now an inspiration for “major spring looks” as said in the article.

EXO Update

EXO members Sehun and Chanyeol showered EXO-CBX with great support through their Instagram accounts. Sehun posted a photo of Chen, Xiumin, and Baekhyun and captioned it with CBX Blooming Days. Chanyeol posted a video where “Blooming Days” was playing on Park Myung Soo’s radio show.

On the same radio show, Chanyeol also revealed his own BTS moment. According to AllKpop’s report, Chanyeol texted Park Myung Soo. The EXO member said that he’s currently tuned in to the show. Park Myung Soo asked the EXO member what the nicest thing he’s done recently. Chanyeol replied that he recently bought and stacked four boxes of green tea for the whole of EXO to enjoy. He didn’t fail to share the amusing backstory behind it. He explained that the EXO members kept stealing from his personal stock. So, might as well, Chanyeol bought some for everyone.

Filming Buffs

Other EXO members are currently busy filming. AllKpop report says Suho’s drama “Rich Man” has recently unveiled still cuts of the EXO leader. Suho is clearly embodying the genius businessman he’s playing as. He is taking the role of Lee Yoo Chan with actress Ha Yeon Soo as his leading lady.

Aside from that, Suho is also starring in the musical “The Man Who Laughs” alongside singer Park Hyo Shin as reported by AllKpop. He is playing as Gwynplaine where his deformed mouth is in a permanent wide-mouthed grin.

On the other hand, EXO’s youngest member Sehun who just celebrated his 24th birthday is also starring in his own show. He is part of the ensemble for Netflix’s first Korean original variety show, “Busted.” Sehun will be acting as one of the seven celebrity detectives stumbling around trying to solve crimes. His castmates include Yeo Jae Suk, Lee Kwang Soo, Kim Jong Min, Park Min Young, Ahn Jae Wook, and Kim Sejeong.

EXO is also in the midst of filming their new reality show “Travel the World on EXO’s ladder.” Soompi reports that the first part of the show follows EXO-CBX. Their segment airs on May on tvN.

Lastly, EXO received their own official medals from the Korea Minting and Security Printing Company (KOMSCO). This is the very same company who created the Pyeongchang Olympics medals. In AllKpop’s report, KOMSCO said, “We will be minting an official medal for EXO, who is the top idol group in Korea and in the center of Hallyu, and release it in April.”
