EXO, Universe, Winter album 2017

EXO dropped more teasers on their upcoming winter album called “Universe.” The South Korean-Chinese boy band posted on Twitter a teaser with a gif showing a steaming cup of choco or coffee. The post has gotten thousands of retweets and likes.

EXO was formed by S.M Entertainment in 2011. They debuted in 2012 with 12 members separated into two groups: EXO-K who perform songs in Korean and EXO-M who perform songs in Mandarin. Members of EXO-K include Suho, Baekhyun, Chanyeol, D.O, Kai, and Sehun. Members of EXO-K, on the other hand, include Xiumin, Lay, Chen and former members Kris, Luhan, and Tao. The group won both Disk Daeksang at the 28th Golden Disk Awards and Album of the Year on 2013 for their first album, “XOXO.”

EXO posts teaser of winter album ‘Universe’ on Twitter, release date revealed

EXO is known to release a winter song every year since 2013. The first was called, “Miracles in December,” in 2014 they released, “December, 2014 (The Winter’s Tale),” “Sing For You” in 2015 and “For Life” in 2016.

On Thursday, Dec 14, the South Korean-Chinese boy band posted on Twitter a teaser which revealed the release date and title of their upcoming winter album. See Twitter post below. The post has had around 30k retweets and likes as of writing considering the gif was posted at 8 am. Thousands of likes in retweets in just 2 hours.

The teaser showed a gif of a steaming cup of a drink on a background that looks like the milky way or stars in the universe. The post had the caption, “#EXO 2017 Winter Special Album ‘#Universe,’ 2017.12.21 6 PM KST.” This confirms the release date of their upcoming winter album “Universe” on Dec 21 at the specified time.

In other news, the boy group and Song Hye Kyo have been invited to the “Korea-China Economic Partnership” opening ceremony which is set to take place on Dec 14. The guest list includes none other than South Korean President Moon Jae In and Chinese President Xi Jinping as reported by AllKPop.

EXO’s winter album “Universe” which hits stores on Dec 21 will have seven tracks in total.
