Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids April 8 Episode: Grand Showdown Kicks Off

The celebrity judges of Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids.

The April 8 episode of Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids will kick off the two-part Grand Showdown. Live from Resorts World Manila, the celebrity kids will show off their impersonation skills once again.

In a surprise announcement last week, instead of choosing the final four, all eight celebrity kids will join the grand showdown. Each kid will choose his or her icon to impersonate tonight. Public voting will make up 50 per cent of the kids’ scores, while the stars they received from the jury will be the other 50 per cent.

#YFSFKidsGrandShowdown Sam Shoaf As Freddie Mercury

Talented cutie chose a very challenging icon for his final performance: Queen’s Freddie Mercury. He called Freddie Mercury and his music as iconic. While rehearsing, he got tips from their vocal coach about Freddie’s exaggerated pronunciations. When it comes to his moves, Freddie is also known for his larger than life moves.

He came on stage to perform We Will Rock You with so much energy and gusto. Ogie Alcasid had nothing else to say but congratulations. Sharon on the other hand said that she and the rest of the jury have so much belief in Sam and his talent. Gary said that Sam rocked the house tonight, matching the audience’s energy level in his performance.

#YFSFKidsGrandShowdown AC Bonifacio As Sarah Geronimo

Dance sweetheart AC Bonifacio will be doing something for the first time: impersonating an OPM artist. She chose popstar royalty Sarah Geronimo. She rehearsed a Filipino song that Sarah  is known for, Kilometro. She admitted that she had a hard time with the part when breathing was challenging. She also learned how to move like Sarah, who is known to be a total performer.

Gary, who was in tears, said that what AC did was not easy task. He was so amazed at how good she is. Ogie said he saw her passion in her performance. Sharon admitted that she has witnessed how good she has become since the start of the show.

#YFSFKidsGrandShowdown Alonzo Muhlach As Ricky Martin

Child wonder Alonzo Muhlach wants the audience to dance with his performance. He chose Latin pop star Ricky Martin who is known for his smooth moves on stage. He rehearsed The Cup Of Life and got a few tips from the coaches. Their movement coach particularly said that his dance moves should be as smooth and suave as Ricky Martin.

He came on stage moving very much like Ricky Martin. The jury praised him for his performance which so far is his best, according to Gary and Sharon. Sharon said that she will miss Alonzo who has shown so much effort in each performance. Ogie said that he will miss Alonzo’s enthusiasm and his smile.

#YFSFKidsGrandShowdown Elha Nympha As Luciano Pavarotti

Elha Nympha takes on an extra challenging icon tonight: opera singer Luciano Pavarotti. She explained that she chose him because she wants to do something outside her comfort zone. In terms of singing ability, she needed to deepen her voice some more. She performed Luciano’s La Donna E Mobile and got a standing ovation from the jury.

Gary said that she was already a champion especially in the way she gives her all in her performances. Ogie only had superlatives for her performance. He also said that what she did takes a lot of discipline. Sharon praised her for always being amazing and leaving them in awe. She said that everyone was blown away by Elha’s performance. 

#YFSFKidsGrandShowdown Xia Vigor As Madonna

Fan favorite Xia Vigor chose Madonna as her icon. She rehearsed her performance of Vogue, which has complicated dance moves as well. She came on stage all dressed up like the Queen of Pop.

After her well-applauded number, the jury gave their comments. Sharon said that Xia got better every week and that she was the Queen of the stage tonight. Ogie only had praises for her. Gary said that she was the reason why he loved this show so much.

Tomorrow, three more kids will perform their icons. After a special performance by the jury, special guests Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla will also grace the stage on April 9, 7:00 p.m. via ABS-CBN.
