'Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids' January 29 Episode: And The Winner Is Lyca Gairanod As Tina Turner

POPCORN TIME LIVE BLOG/RECAP: Four more celebrity kids performed in the January 29 episode of “Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids.” Viewers saw more cute performances from Alonzo as April Boy Regino, Awra as Yoyoy Villame, Lyca as Tina Turner and AC as Alanis Morissette. Will Xia continue her winning streak or will another contestant take home this week’s trophy?

#YFSFWonderKids Alonzo Muhlach As April Boy Regino

Alonzo Muhlach this time around picked OPM icon April Boy Regino. He came out on stage singing April Boy’s “Di Ko Kayang Tanggapin” complete with giving away of hats.

Ogie said he did not see Alonzo but saw April Boy Regino instead. He also said Alonzo did a good job. Gary on other hand, said that Alonzo brings a different thing in all his performances. Sharon said that every week Alonzo gives them joy and that he really studies the icons he will imitate.

#YFSFWonderKids Awra Briguela As Yoyoy Villame

Awra Briguela picked novelty singer Yoyoy Villame. During rehearsals, Awra said that he watched Yoyoy’s videos to get to know him and his songs. He sang Yoyoy’s “Buchikek” and came on stage with confidence. His performance brought laughter to the judges and the audience as well.

Sharon called his performance very entertaining and something that brought joy to them once again. Ogie said that Awra is one with the most audience impact and congratulated him for doing Yoyoy very well. Gary added that Awra had a quality about him that made people very happy.

AC Bonifacio picked an icon that can be considered out of her comfort zone – Alanis Morissette. AC admitted that she did not know who Alanis was, but as the rehearsals went on, she was trying her best.

Gary saw her being able to get Alanis’ movements, which was hard to do since she is a dancer. Sharon congratulated her for doing her best and added that they saw Alanis and not AC. Ogie commented that she works very hard and that she really studied Alanis’ moves.

Lyca, who has been getting the lowest scores in the past three weeks, gave it her all tonight. She performed “Proud Mary” which is one of Tina’s signature songs, complete with all the dancing. Vocally she also sounded like Tina Turner. The judges were cheering her on while she was singing, and they also gave her a standing ovation.

Ogie said she made her so happy in her performance tonight. She indeed gave her all, he said. Gary called Lyca a firecracker and vocally, she sounded exactly like Tina. Sharon acknowledged that she was very good tonight.

Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids – And The Weekly Winner Is… Lyca Gairanod

Getting 8 stars from all the judges, Lyca was named this week’s winner. Aside from the award, she also gets 50,000 pesos and 50,000 pesos worth of books for her favorite charity.
