Will.i.Am: Fergie Out, Pussycat Doll Scherzinger In Black Eyed Peas?

Black Eyed Peas member Will.i.Am confirmed in an interview that Fergie will no longer be in the band. This makes the group now a trio.

BEP, established in 1995, consists of four members. Apl de Ap, Taboo, Will.i.Am, as its original members. Fergie joined the group in 2002. As of date, the group won a total of 87 awards. Six of which are Grammys.

“It has nothing to do with making music or money. It’s about friendship,” Will.i.Am states in a WhatsApp group chat which Fergie isn’t a member of. But, former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger is a member of the said group chat according to an article by Inquirer.

He didn’t mention anything about Scherzinger being a member. But he did clarify that they considered her to join the group in 2002. But she had to decline due to other projects.

Black Eyed Peas new member?

According to rumors, Fergie is no longer member of the group since 2017. But she cleared the rumors and said that she was still a member but working on her third album as a solo artist.

The new BEP album will feature Scherzinger as confirmed by Will.i.Am in June. Although no news which song, it sparked rumors that she replaced Fergie of her role in the group. It was also asked if the Pussycat Dolls will make a come back soon but there are no confirmations about it yet.

This week, Fergie was set on fire by fans due to her rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner in NBA’s All-Star Game. “I’m a risk taker artistically, but clearly this rendition didn’t strike the intended tone,” she said. “I love this country and honestly tried my best.” Watch the video via MLG Highlights YouTube account below.
