Hallyu Wave– also called Korean Culture Wave– has always been blowing Filipinos away with its appeal and entertainment offers. But ever since the growing popularity of Korean-pop band ‘BTS’ or ‘Bangtan Boys’ composed of Jungkook, V, Jimin, Suga, Jin, J-Hope and Rap Monster, Kpop lovers have risen to build what could be the biggest fanbase in the country. And inclusive of this fanbase– commonly known as ARMY– are some Filipino celebrities who appreciate and dance to their music.

Filipino Celebrities Who Like and Listen to BTS

1. Kris Aquino. The Queen of All Media has been quite vocal about her fangirling over the boyband. Aside from posting about BTS on her Twitter and Instagram, she first mentioned them on a Home Tour vlog. On the video, she tells her son about her admiration for Rap Monster who happens to be one of the topnotchers in the Korean National exams.

Aside from this, she also admires them for their participation in UNICEF and tweeted about her admiration and praise for their help. And by the way, have you seen her use the hashtag #ARMYMama?

2. Vice Ganda. It’s quite evident that Vice Ganda is part of the Kpop-loving majority in the country. From the way he dresses to the colors on his hair– he’s a definite fan. There was also an episode in his noontime show, ‘Showtime,’ where the host told a participant that he too ‘loves’ Kpop. Particularly G-Dragon and Sehun.

Aside from this, if you follow Vice Ganda on Instagram, you must have caught him checking out some BTS merchandise and tagging another BTS fan– who is also his good friend and co-host, Anne Curtis.

3. Anne Curtis. Anne Curtis has been following BTS on Instagram since last year. She even liked their Concept photo– something the ARMY instantly took notice of. Not to mention, she posted an Instagram story of she and her husband, Erwan Heussaff, listening to some BTS beats. Apparently, she’s trying to convert him into a fan– which shouldn’t take her too long.

4. Lea Salonga. Lea Salonga just recently joined the bandwagon when she witnessed their New Year’s Eve performance on ABC. By the looks of it, the theater actress and vocalist was rocking to their music– and it won’t be too long before she ends up being an #ARMYMama too!

5. Darren Espanto. Sixteen-year-old singer Darren Espanto happened to be one of those who replied to Lea’s tweet saying “That was BTS po… They killed it… Again.” The “Next Star Chronicles” artist was just as impressed as she was. Aside from this, Darren also performed a Kpop-themed dance number with our next BTS fan:

6. Iñigo Pascual. If you follow this actor-slash-vocalist on Facebook, you’re bound to catch him doing a live stream. And it’s been popular among his fans because he’s been doing some covers of Korean songs. One of which would be BTS’ ‘Blood, Sweat, and Tears.’ Some fans were able to record and upload this on YouTube along with his other covers.

Another popular Facebook Live that he did was a reaction video while watching BTS’ ‘DNA.’ The 20-year-old recording artist danced and grooved to the song– a symptom of Hallyu Wave taking over. Aside from this, he also follows BTS on Instagram.

It’s only a matter of time before other celebrities become members of the ARMY. So to BTS, keep rocking!
