Although you can achieve this in many ways, it’s always a good step to start with the easiest– and that would be: looking decent. Unfortunately to the majority of makeup enthusiasts in the Philippines, we are swamped with fake replicas, Class A’s; and if not that, then line after line of shipping fees, and extra extra fees for who knows what. Thankfully, Filipino celebrities have taken a step forward in this melodrama. There are now cosmetics brands that are tailored for the Filipino and by a Filipino. Thanks to these Pinoy celebs, we have a chance at buying affordable brands– while feeling slightly patriotic for it. Filipino Celebrities with their Own Makeup Line 1. Karel Marquez Fariñas. The 31-year-old actress started her makeup line back in 2015, named “KSpark Cosmetics.” It’s this awesome makeup brand that is famous for its so-called Smooch Stix– moisturizing, highly pigmented, 2-in-1 lip balms. This is one product that claims to be Paraben-free, Cruelty-free, and available in both satin and matte finishes. 2. Anne Curtis. Last year September, the “Showtime” host launched her own makeup brand! Having co-founded it, she also serves as “BLK’s” creative director. The Filipino makeup brand consists of lip kits, highlighters, blushes, pencils, powders, and eyeliners. It is also approved by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA)– which means it’s cruelty free which is a plus for Anne. 3. Vice Ganda. Not long after Anne Curtis’ makeup launch, her bestie and co-host Vice Ganda also collaborated with a makeup brand from Los Angeles to make his makeup brand, “Vice Cosmetics”. The slogan is “Ganda for All”– which basically means it’s flattering to the Filipino look, and wallet-friendly to everyone else. For the meanwhile, “Vice Cosmetics” only consists of lip kits– bullet lipsticks, lip creams and lip liners. But the “Showtime” star did mention that fans can expect a full out cosmetics brand with foundation, eyeshadow palettes, you name it. It must also be noted that this Filipino Celebrity-owned Makeup brand is also 100% Cruelty-free. Coming soon, is another Filipino celebrity who will also take part in her own makeup brand– but in a collaboration with MAC Cosmetics. All we know for sure is that the initial release of Maine Mendoza’s makeup line would be personalized lipsticks. She posted on her Instagram account a photo of her inside MAC Cosmetics’ lab for what seems to be mixing some formula. The launch will be announced very soon, but hopefully, it will be more price-friendly for the most of us. So happy to let you guys know that I am creating my own lipstick with @maccosmetics! Feels surreal to be chosen as one of the influencers and to be the first Filipina to have a lipstick collab with MAC. (Thanks so much, @maccosmeticsph!) Creating your own lipstick from scratch is tricky but I am so glad I was able to achieve the colour I wanted. I am sure you guys are gonna love it!!! Can’t wait for it to be launched! And by purchasing these Pinoy-owned makeup lines, we might just get a sense of confidence only a Filipina can achieve. Facebook Comments
