Filipinos are dominating this season’s “Asia’s Got Talent.” Each of the Pinoy contestants is really giving it their all. But Mercifuletes Viola, aka Lola Rapper, gave everyone an incredible first impression. She sang Jesse J’s “Price Tag” nailed the rap part perfectly without any dentures. Viola received a unanimous yes from the judges. But there is more to this rapping grandma. At 68 years old, Viola is not letting her age hold her back whatsoever. She proves her age is only a number and talent comes from hard work and passion.

Mercifuletes Viola Has 8 Kids

Before “Asia’s Got Talent,” Viola was living in Surigao del Norte with her ill husband and eight children. With eight children she had to support, life was tough. Like most Filipinos living in hardship, Viola made sure she gave her children what she can. She admits they did not even live in a house. They lived on the streets making the most of what they can. It wasn’t easy especially when her late husband was sick. But she believes in working hard and being a fighter no matter the circumstance.

She is a Widow

After Viola’s entertaining performance, the judges were stunned and absolutely impressed by her. Anggun complimented her performance. While David Foster was quite smitten with her. The singer asked Viola if she was single because he was always looking. Laughing it off, Viola told Foster that she is a Widow.

Because of her husband’s sickness, he met his untimely passing. But it looks like it doesn’t bring Viola down. After receiving praise and a yes from all three judges, she got bonus kisses from Foster and Jay Park.

She Has No Time For Haters

Because of Viola’s age, she is no stranger from hearing limitations on what she can and cannot do. Despite the viral success and moving on in the competition she has faced a few bashers. Both online trolls and people in her life. Many people have told her that she can no longer sing. But she brushes off these comments and lives her life the way she wants to.

Viola considers herself a winner in spite of the hardships she faced. She doesn’t care if she wins or loses in the competition. She was able to achieve her dream being given the chance to rap on the “Asia’s Got Talent” stage. She doesn’t consider herself as an ordinary old woman.
