It’s undeniable. Filipino’s are suckers for a really great love team. We just can’t get enough of them! And it’s easy to see why. If you’ve got two people with great chemistry seemingly fulfilling a dream love story right in front of your eyes, it’s easy to feel kilig for many. This 2020, a lot of your favorite Filipino love teams are already on track to serve up those kilig moments. And if you’re still wondering what’s next for them this new year, worry no more. Here’s what your favorite Filipino love teams are up to in 2020.

1. MayWard (Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber)

Ever since their debut on Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky Season 7, the MayWard love team has quickly been capturing hearts all over. And since then, they’ve been steadily handing out kilig moments in more and more projects each year. In 2019, the MayWard love team was more active than ever. First off, Maymay and Edward released each of their albums titled “#M0806” and “#E0806” respectively. Then, their first mini-teleserye titled “Hiwaga ng Kambat” premiered on TV. Because of these, MayWard became the most talked-about Filipino love team in the first quarter of 2019 according to Cosmopolitan. Now, the love team is gearing up for their teleserye debut in “When We Fall In Love.” According to ABS, the teleserye was shot in Japan and will start airing in March.

2. KathNiel (Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla)

The KathNiel love team has been going strong for a while now. However, in 2019 Kathryn and Daniel agreed not to do projects together for the year to focus on their individual careers. Although fans of the love team were a little saddened by the onscreen KathNiel tandem absence, neither Kathryn nor Daniel disappointed in their individual projects. Kathryn went on to star in the widely successful “Hello, Love, Goodbye” with Alden Richards while Daniel partnered up with James Reid on their action-packed project “Doble Hataw.” This year, KathNiel is back! According to PEP, Kathryn revealed that she and Daniel will be starring in a new teleserye. However, the actress refused to reveal any more details about it. In addition to that, there might also be a movie being prepared for the love team in the near future.

3. LizQuen (Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil)

Much like KathNiel, the LizQuen love team took a little break for the most part in 2019. For them, this was to allow Liza to recover from the finger injury that cost her the role of Darna. Fans saw a lot of them last in 2018’s fantasy series “Bagani” and in the 2019 romantic drama film “Alone/ Together.”  This 2020, however, the on-screen and real-life sweethearts are teasing an exciting line-up of projects. First off, LizQuen will be having a come back in their new teleserye “Make It With You.” And according to an interview with ABS, Liza described this project to have a little more mature LizQuen. In addition to that, they also hinted that they might be doing a new movie together soon.

4. JaDine (James Reid and Nadine Lustre)

JaDine has always been one of the top favorite Filipino love teams in recent years. Unfortunately, the love team started out the year on a little sour note. On New Year, the onscreen and real-life partners made headlines for allegedly calling it quits. However, a few days later, Nadine spoke up calling out the writer that started it all. A photo of the two hiking Mt. Ulap with some friends also came to light. More recently, the couple updated their social media accounts with videos of each other in their vacation in Brazil which effectively ends all the breakup rumors. As of now, there are no official announcements for any JaDine projects. However, back in later 2019, news spread that JaDine would be starring in an adaptation of Korean film “Spellbound” according to PEP. James is also gearing up for the upcoming release of his series “Soulmate” with Momoland’s Nancy.

5. KimXi (Kim Chiu and Xian Lim)

Last but not least in our list of favorite Filipino love teams is the KimXi love team. Ever since their stint in the 2016 television series “The Story of Us,” fans have seen very little of Kim and Xian onscreen. And as it seems, the two have been busy traveling and handling individual activities. But, this year, fans are finally going to have their wishes granted because the loveteam is having a comeback. After almost four years, Kim and Xian will soon be back onscreen in their upcoming television series “Love Thy Woman.” Until then, fans would have to sit tight and simply have to enjoy what these two lovebirds have to share on social media.
