Pepe Smith Stars In ‘Singing in Graveyards’ The film is about Pepe, the 68-year-old impersonator of a Filipino rock legend. He lives by himself with his reality hanging by a thread. Pepe lives in the realm of the mystic and imagined. An opportunity to open for Pepe Smith’s concert came but then he must write a love song which is something that he and the rock legend has never done before. The film directed by Bradley Liew received the Visions Sud Est Production Support Fund award. It is about a man in his 40’who s decides to finish high school after dropping out. Because of this, his son struggles and begins to hate his father. The film’s director, Victor C. Acedillo, Jr., has won three Best Screenplays in Cinemalaya. They try to live normal lives the best they can but find themselves in unique predicaments. 14-year-old Jessica with Leukemia found a best friend in MC who is gay. MC desires to get his father’s acceptance. Jessica, on the other hand, wants nothing else but her mother’s happiness amidst struggles. As they are aware of their ultimate death, these friends promise to seek each other out in heaven. Luisito L. Ignacio directed the film. For three consecutive years, he was ALIW Awards’ Best Stage Director winning a Gold Medal at the New York Festival.
