Although the 67-year-old veteran British performer has not yet disclosed his role, Entertainment weekly confirms that the acclaimed actor will play a ‘significant role’. Broadbent, who played Professor Horace Slughorn in the Harry Potter franchise and grabbed the Academy Award for best supporting actor in 2001 for the film “Iris”, is rumoured to play a learned master. But then again, that is mere speculation at this moment. Since HBO’s GOT has already outpaced George R.R. Martin’s published books in his A Song of Ice and Fire (ASOIAF) series, there is no way of knowing if his character has already been introduced in previous books or not.
