Start the countdown! Two weeks left before Winter arrives and the “Game of Thrones” Season 7 returns to cast a freezing spell for all its viewers. Yes, it’s hibernation time for the “Game of Thrones” fans. Hibernation as in, cocooning into their own rooms to watch the greatest war in Westeros. With seven episodes for this season, there is a lot of talk on what might just happen. Read about what we’ve noticed on the “Game of Thrones” trailer here.
Thus, here are a few deductions:
10 Things to Expect from GOT Season 7
1. Cersei vs Everyone. Mad Queen Cersei should really keep the Iron Throne warm while she’s at it. It’s not going to take too long before someone points a sword at her. She’s not the most likable person, after all. Her own brother’s vexed at her, plus her people will most likely perform a coup. Never forget, Cersei is also listed in Arya Stark’s blacklist. Talk about targeted!
In the trailer, a lion piece on the chessboard falls– a foreshadowing of the queen’s inevitable downfall. Who will do it? Jaime? Arya? Or the all other characters vying for to slash her throat.
2. Daenerys has the upper hand. Unlike the Cersei who only has the Iron Throne, and just the Iron Throne, Daenerys Targaryen has a battalion. With Yara and Theon Greyjoys’ allegiance to her and her army of Dothraki men, she’s unstoppable.
Other than this, she’s got people who actually respect her– like her right-hand man, Tyrion Lannister. Other than her impressive army, her strategic logic, and experience that has shaped her into a deserving Targaryen, she’s got three humongous dragons with her.
3. Greyjoys vs Greyjoys. Speaking of Greyjoys, after the official meeting of Yara and Theon Greyjoy, the family of the Greyjoys becomes split. Apparently, these two have a vendetta against their ‘evil uncle’ and want him dead before he even reaches the Iron throne.
And while Euron Greyjoy is saving up to grow his fleet, it is a great possibility that he rubs elbows with Mad Queen herself. Other than the fact that this is the easiest ticket to Euron’s desire for the seven kingdoms, this will be an advantageous tactic for him as he isn’t too far from Cersei nor are their goals contrasting. The result: younger Greyjoys against their Uncle Greyjoy in an attempt to redeem their Iron Islands.
4. Sansa green with Greed and Jealousy. Remember the time when Littlefinger approaches Sansa and tells her his ‘vision’ where he sees himself on the Iron Throne and Sansa, loyally standing beside him? Yeah, it’s Littlefinger being himself again. Sansa may not easily lean unto Littlefinger and his ridiculous vision, but it may spark some intrigue inside the redheaded Stark.
While Jon Snow may consider himself a ‘Stark,’ there are people who know about his true heritage. ‘King of the North,’ they call him, and Sansa? Well, she sits idly beside her brother as they praise his greatness. As soon as she will find out that Jon is actually her half-brother, it gives him legitimate power to the throne, and a legitimate reason for Sansa to take his place. Will she do it? With Littlefinger looking creepy and expectant, he might just coerce her into throwing her brother out.
5. Lady Olenna Tyrell is here. Being the only living member of the House of Tyrells, she is an interesting character who is bound to call some shots somewhere in the season. This old soul has changed the tides for the “Game of Thrones” plot, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if she did it again. If you want to know who really knows how to play the game, better watch out for Lady Olenna. Hopefully, though, she lives long enough to see her plans take place.
6. White Walkers are here. These ice zombies have always been a great issue since Season 1. Unsure of when they are actually going to arrive, besides knowing it’s on a Winter, we finally have a definite answer for that. We’ve all seen the White Raven flying over Westeros right? That’s right! That means the White Walkers are here. Expect a lot of snowflakes across your screen, on the Season 7 of “Game of Thrones” folks.
7. Bran’s visions to be resolved. Season 3 featured Bran in the Ironwood Tree and rehashed this scene for Season 6. Remember that most of the visions have not happened yet, so we can expect a lot of this to be revealed in the upcoming episodes. One of which is the giant dragon shadow over King’s Landing. This could hint the arrival of Daenerys on the island. Or, it could be the beginning of the war against the Iron Throne. One thing’s for sure: We’ll get to see some fire-breathing creatures in action.
8. Iron Throne no more. Another unsolved vision is from Dragon Queen herself: when she finds herself face to face with the Iron Throne in foggy ruins. She is so close to touching it, but instead turns away. This might just tell us that in a battle where Greed is the drive, no one wins. Or, that Danaerys isn’t the one to claim it. Who knows?
9. Ser Jorah Mormont. There’s a great bravery that comes with self-banishment. But maybe it’s understandable after Jorah had his very own heartbreak that came with it. The poor guy is now out to cure his grayscale disease. Hopefully, we see this character now dapper with his healed self– ahem, Danny. While he’s out on his quest to save himself, we might be seeing him in Westeros, still uncured as we see his hand poking out of the door from the “Game of Thrones” Season 7 trailer. (If that is him.)
10. Wall breaks! Uh oh. Jon Snow’s departing words were: ‘Don’t break it down while I’m gone.’ Yeah, of course, it won’t break down while he’s gone. And with the White Raven cruising on the skies foreshadowing the inevitable havoc, we can safely assume that the wall is going to break soon. Really soon.
Game Of Thrones Season 7 airs July 17 in the Philippines.
