Idol Philippines Top 12 includes Matty Juniosa, Lance Busa, Renwick Benito, Dan Ombao, Lucas Garcia, Miguel Odron, Zephanie Dimaranan, Elle Ocampo, Fatima Louise, Trish Bonilla, Sheland Faelnar, and Rachel Libres. The aspirants are a step closer to the finish line of the show. But before they compete head-to-head on a sing-off on June 29, let’s get to know finalists more. Idol Philippines Top 12 Finalists 1. Elle Ocampo Ocampo first wowed the judges when she sang ‘Take Me To Church’ during the auditions. She gave her own twist to the song that made the judges say “YES” without any hesitation. Her unique style was first heard on Tawag Ng Tanghalan in 2018. Aside from singing, the 21-year-old finalist also has an interest in painting and sketching. Lance Busa One of the great competitors in the show is a 24-year-old singer from Butuan City. Busa has competed in several singing competitions not only in the Philippines but in Asia. Before auditioning for Idol Philippines, Busa appeared on GMA’s ‘To The Top’ in 2015 and made it to the grand finals. He also won the first edition of ‘Bolt Of Talent’ singing competition of Michael Bolton in Malaysia. 3. Sheland Faelnar This Idol hopeful is a 17-year-old solid ‘JaDine’ fan. Faelnar was once a resbaker in Tawag Ng Tanghalan and Eat Bulaga’s ‘The Spot’ before getting the chance to join Idol Philippines. Faelnar sang ‘Clarity’ in the solo round. 4. Lucas Garcia The 20-year-old belter from Lipa City, Batangas. Garcia was first loved by the judges when he sang one of Sam Smith’s most popular hits, ‘Lay Me Down.’ His riffs and runs paved the way for him to get 4 yeses from the judges. Garcia has again proven his skills and talent in singing when he gave Alicia Keys’ ‘If I Ain’t Got you’ his own rendition. 5. Fatima Louise Lagueras Lagueras was first seen in The Voice Teens in 2017 and has been part of Sarah Geronimo’s Team. Aside from Idol Philippines, Lagueras has started uploading her covers on YouTube and now she has almost 13 thousand followers. Lagueras earned her spot in the Top 12 after singing ‘Feeling Good’ by Michael Buble in the Solo Round. 6. Renwick Benito Let’s meet the loving father of Pampanga, Renwick Benito. Benito sang one of the most popular songs in 2019 ‘Buwan’ by John Karlos Labajo. Instantly, he earned the judges support. The 27-year-old band singer used to be a tattoo artist. According to him that he decided to change for the better to make his children proud. In the solo round, Benito sang ‘Kasalanan’ by Orient Pearl. 7. Zephanie Dimaranan You probably had the moment of “I feel like I’ve seen her before” when Dimaranan popped up in the audition of Idol Philippines on May 19. Well, that’s because this dedicated girl has joined numerous TV contests like The Voice Kids in 2015 and Tawag Ng Tanghalan in 2018. Although she did not win both contests, Dimaranan is determined to pursue her dream to be a great singer. This young lady definitely knows how to wow the judges. Her “I Believe” performance in the solo round earned her a spot in the top 12. 8. Dan Ombao The 23-year-old finalist is an ex-competitor of The Voice Philippines Season 2 Philippines. Although Ombao has not made his voice be heard in The Voice, he definitely made a great impression in his audition, where he sang ‘Nobela’ by Join The Club. Ombao also made a guest appearance on Wish 107.5 Bus 2 years ago, where he covered ‘Tadhana’ by Up Dharma Down. Now the video garnered over 3 million views on YouTube. Giving ‘I See Fire’ of Ed Sheeran his own rendition, Ombao gained a spot in the Top 12 of the competition. 9. Trish Bonilla The 16-year-old finalist is the daughter of well-known ‘kontersera’ Mau Marcelo. Bonilla said that unlike any mothers who are singers, her mom was not really a big fan of her joining singing competitions. According to her mother, it is because she has experienced the hardships of it and doesn’t want Bonilla to experience the same. With no stopping Bonilla from pursuing what she really wants, she auditioned for Idol Philippines and was praised by the judges because of her uniqueness and style in singing. Bonilla sang ‘One Night Only’ by Jennifer Hudson. 10. Matty Juniosa Probably one of the most talked about auditions on Idol Philippines is the audition of Matty Juniosa. The 20-years-old finalist shocked the judges when he sang the notable song ‘Natural Woman’ of Aretha Franklin. Now, his audition video on YouTube has garnered over 4 million views and many YouTube Page has applauded his audition. His quirkiness and his skills in singing was his edge in the competition and he definitely brought that when he sang another renowned song ‘Proud Mary’ of Tina Turner. 11. Rachel Libres The young aspirant from Pasay City is a 17-year-old student. Before she auditioned in Idol Philippines, this young singer is part of a girl group named “After 5” who is handled by Viva records. Libres impressed in the solo round with her own version of ‘Maybe This Time’ Sarah Geronimo. 12. Miguel Odron Lastly in our list is the Filipino-American finalist Miguel Odron. He is a singer-songwriter who gave us a taste of his music entitled “Still” in his audition and he immediately gained the judges’ respect.
