Gloria Jeans Coffees: A Glorious Cup of Joe In a Cozy Hotel Setting

It’s always the perfect day to grab a steaming hot cup of coffee. With the plethora of coffee shops around Baguio, it could be hard to find someplace new. Or it could be the other way around; you’re so used to dropping by that you can’t imagine going to any other coffee place than that. No matter what your coffee cravings take you, there’s one thing that you need to appease—your love for a fragrant cup of freshly-brewed coffee. Gloria Jeans Coffees (yes, it does come with a weird “s”) at Hotel Supreme takes that need and fills you up with overwhelming warmth.

Gloria Jeans Coffees is a fresh find for me, despite its international recognition. It’s one of Australia’s best coffee brands, and Baguio is lucky enough to have it in a city swarming with caffeine diversity. Located at Hotel Supreme’s main lobby, you’re only a few steps away from a unique and personal coffee experience. Like all coffee chains, there’s that distinct identity that will always be associated with their blends. And just like the other main players out there, Gloria Jeans Coffees exudes warmth.

Each cup is a complete experience for anyone who comes in for a coffee dose. It’s made and brewed in front of you, and it makes the wait worthwhile. They also serve decadent pastries courtesy of Daily Basket, Gloria Jeans Coffees’ bread and cake shop partner owned by Kathleen Ng, Hotel Supreme Resident Manager Jeff Ng’s wife. It’s a pleasant time dining and sipping coffee in the comfortable tables.

Your productivity is also encouraged here—especially if you’re checking in for business purposes. Just in front of the shop is a spacious executive area where one can take care of work-related matters while basking in the warmth of Gloria Jeans Coffees.

But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Sans the place and it’s intricacies, what Gloria Jeans Coffees offers is an ideal alternative to the commercial coffee brand selections that Baguio has.

Gloria Jeans Coffees: Something To Look Forward To

We loaded up our cravings with three coffee (and one tea) blends—Irish Cream Coffee, Café Latté, and the Chai Tea Latté. It might seem a bit odd to even think of these as an effective trio to quench one’s coffee cravings, but it’s oddly a fine combination for anyone who wants to lay back and chill.

There’s something about seeing your drink prepared in front of you. It’s a usual procedure for most mainstream coffee brands, but the baristas at Gloria Jeans Coffees make it something you’d really want to look forward to. Place your order, watch the magic happen, and sit down with a hot beverage prepared from the heart. That’s probably what makes the experience complete—there’s love in every cup.

A chill afternoon wouldn’t be as perfect without some baked treats. The Daily Basket is a treasure chest of great-tasting bread and cakes. We decided to partner our hot cups with a lemon tart, chocolate ganache cake, and a Japanese cake. Boy, did we love every bite! Do you know the feeling of saving up what you’re eating down to the last bite? That’s what you’d do after getting yourself a tasty treat from the Daily Basket.
