“Goblin” is a Korean drama starring Gong Yoo you surely don’t want to miss. You probably heard someone getting crazy over finding his or her own guardian, bride, or soulmate after many incarnations because of this smash-hit TV series. These people didn’t lose their minds. The story revolves around a “Goblin” in search for his bride who can end his immortality by removing the sword pierced through his chest. The second love story involves a Grim Reaper- who is in charge with sending deceased souls to the afterlife- and a chicken restaurant owner.

The plot may sound all gloomy and depressing; but; that’s not the case at all. It is true that “Goblin” centers on death. However, death is presented in such a beautiful way; making you appreciate the life you have right now.

Gong Yoo flawlessly portrayed the character of Kim Shin.  His versatility as an actor manifested in his characterization as an unbeatable warrior- a ferocious beast during battles, yet warm, protective and a little foolish in his core. It’s truly incredible how his eyes alone delivers his emotions.

Lee Dong Wook, on the other hand, plays the role of an amnesiac Grim Reaper. This veteran actor can either make your heart bleed or make you tear up from laughing as he goes alternatingly serious and sad to being silly and innocent.

And there is Kim Go-Eun- a young fresh face but is totally adept at taking challenging roles. She is very adorable in her portrayal as Ji Eun Tak in “Goblin.”

4. The Soundtrack

Every song in the soundtrack will make you emotional. With the powerhouse vocals and the melody, each song truly heightens the feels of each scene.

5. The Bromance

What happens if you put the Goblin and the Grim Reaper together under a single roof? One is a protector of souls while the other is an escort of deceased souls. That sure is one odd relationship.

The two may take the Best Couple Award in the future for their everyday squabbles while subtly looking after one another. Well, the two turned out to be the best buddies out there. Their everyday encounter with one another will make you laugh while appreciating their unique way of being friends.
