Goblin, Legend of the Blue Sea

On Tuesday, ABS-CBN announced award-winning Korean television series “Goblin,” and “Legend of the Blue Sea” are set to air starting Monday, May 8.

“Goblin” follows the tale of an unbeatable warrior and protector of souls, Kim Shin, played by Hallyu star, Gong Yoo. It is a romance fantasy drama about an immortal guardian in search for his bride. Gong Yoo starred in this hit TV drama alongside Kim Go Eun , Lee Dong Wook , Yoo In-na , and Yook Sungjae.

On the other hand, a classic Joseon legend inspired “Legend of the Blue Sea” where a conman and a mermaid falls in love with each other. This top  stars Korean heartthrob Lee Min-ho and one of most sought after leading lady, Jun Ji Hyun. ”

‘Goblin,’ ‘Legend of the Blue Sea’ Recognitions

The previous year, Lee Min Ho and Jun Ji Hyun won “Best Couple” award at SBS Drama Awards. Meanwhile, on the recent 53rd Baeksang Art Awards, Gong Yoo won “Best Actor” award , for his portrayal in “Goblin.” That is not all, Kim Eun-sook, the drama’s screenwriter, won “Grand Prize” for “Goblin.”

In Korea, Baeksang Art Awards is equivalent to Hollywood’s Golden Globes.

Both shows captured the hearts of fans all over Southeast Asia for the exemplary performances of the actors. In addition to this, these dramas didn’t disappoint with their remarkable cinematography, unique and unpredictable plots, and beautiful locations.

Reports by ABS-CBN says, the network’s decision to air the Tagalog versions of “Goblin” and “Legend of the Blue Sea” is part of their attempt to re-establish itself as the “first and true home of Asianovelas.”

According to the same report, “Legend of the Blue Sea” will air after “The Better Half” for the afternoon block. Meanwhile, “Goblin” will air after “A Love To Last,” for the late night block.
