New photos of “Goblin” actor Gong Yoo are making the rounds online after the South Korean idol spent a few days of short vacation in Indonesia. The 37-year-old heartthrob’s new shirtless photos, believed to be taken by fans in Katamaran resort in Lombok, are drawing a lot of praise online, particularly on Instagram.
Meanwhile, ABS-CBN is expected to air a dubbed version of “Goblin” soon. This popular series made waves in Korea via tvN. The network is currently airing “Love in the Moonlight,” starring Park Bo Gum and Kim Yoo-jung. Click here for a list of Korean dramas that the Filipino audience would enjoy in the Kapamilya network.
In “Goblin,” Gong Yoo plays the titular role, which is pronounced dok-kae-bi in Korean. Filipina-Australian actress Anne Curtis-Smith made waves recently for tweeting that she is the goblin bride. A fan account of Gong Yoo replied on Twitter, saying (translated): “You must be very beautiful.” (Editor’s note: She is actually very beautiful engaged and happily engaged in real life.)
Product endorsements and other engagements kept Gong Yoo busy since filming for “Goblin” wrapped up earlier this year. Gong Yoo’s 2016 movies – “Train To Busan,” “A Man And A Woman” and “The Age Of Shadows” – also kept his calendar full. Last week, however, he found some time to travel to Indonesia for a quick break.
Gong Yoo remains in great shape based on the recent shirtless photos currently going viral in various social media channels. Yoo is 184 cm (six feet and about half an inch) tall, making him one of the most attractive six-footer celebrities in Asia.
Fans have been wondering if Gong Yoo is dating someone. It seems the actor went to Indonesia without a date, though. However, Yoo had earlier promised his fans (via KBS) that he will announce on his fan site if he would be getting married soon.
“Goblin” also stars Lee Dong-wook, Kim Go-eun, Yoo In-na and Yook Sung-jae. The story is about a warrior cursed to immortality. The goblin bride is destined to break the curse. The twists and turns in this fantasy series will make KDrama viewers laugh, cry and fall in love again.
On Tumblr, Goblin fans are posting their favorite scenes and lines from the series. See this one below, featuring the bromance of Gong Yoo as the Goblin and Lee-Dong-wook as the Grim Reaper:
