Grammys 2017: Record, Album And Song Of The Year And Best New Artist, Adele vs Beyonce

POPCORN TIME LIVE BLOG/RECAP: The 59th Grammy Awards General Field Reveal is happening at the Staples Center in Los Angeles right now and soon enough we will know who wins Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Best New Artist. This year’s Grammys is Adele vs Beyonce as both have been nominated for Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Song of the Year categories.

“Carpool Karaoke” TV host James Corden will be hosting this year’s Grammy’s. Watch out for performance from Beyoncé, Adele, Katy Perry, Metallica, John Legend, Alicia Keys, Keith Urban, the Weeknd, Daft Punk and Bruno Mars. Pilipinas Popcorn gives you a list of this year’s major nominations and winners.

Grammys 2017: Best New Artist, Best Pop Duo; Ed Sheeran Lukas Graham Performs

First performance was a duet by the Weekend and Daft Punk with their new hit, “Starboy” and “I feel it coming.” First award of the night was presented by JLo, Best New Artist. and the award went to Chance the Rapper. John Travolta then presented the next performers, Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood. Nick Jonas then presented the second award of the night, Best Pop Duo/Group performance. The Award went to Twenty One Pilots for “Stressed Out.”

Two-time grammy winner Ed Sheeran now performs “Shape of You.” The Chainsmokers and Katharin McPhee then introduces the next award, Best Rock Song. The award goes to David Bowie for “Blackstar.” Ryan Seacrest is now on stage and presented the Recording Academy’s Music Music Educator award to High School choral teacher Keith Hancock and introduces  Kelsea Ballerino and Lukas Graham who sang “7 years.”

Grammys 2017: Beyonce And Bruno Mars Performs; Best Country Solo Performance

Beyonce’s mom is now on stage, introduced by none other than her mother, Tina Knowles. Beyonce is rocking the stage with her baby bump as she recently revealed she and Jay Z are expecting twins. The queen sang “Love Rought” and “SandCastles” and of course got a standing ovation after her performance.

Next on stage was Camila Cabelo of Fifth Harmony and Thomas Rett presented the award for Best Country Solo Performance. The award went to Maren Morris for “My Church.” Bruno Mars stole the stage for a moment and sang “That’s What I Like” which was timely for Valentine’s Day.

Grammys 2017: Katy Perry and Alicia Keys Performs: Best Urban Contemporary Album

Little Big Town introduced Katy Perry through an acapella version of Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream.” Katy Perry then took the stage and performs her latest hit, “Chained to the Rhythm” for the first time. Gary Clark and WBell Music performs and introduces the award for Best Urban Contemporary Album. The award goes to Beyonce for “Lemonade.”

Maren Morris and Alicia Keys performs “Once” and was introduced by “Jane The Virgin” actress, Gina Rodriguez. Host James Corden then remembers George Michael and introduced Adele as she performs the song “Fast Love” to pay tribute to the late George Michael.

Adele Performs Makes Mistake On ‘Fast Love,’ Asked To Start Over

Hans Zimmer arranged George Michael’s “Fast Love” for Adele’s performance. Adele started singing the song in the wrong key. She then stopped a few minutes after she started and said, “I’m sorry, I’m ****ing this up, can we start again? I’m really sorry for swearing, but can we start again?”

The crowd cheered on and the band immediately stopped started from the beginning. Adele then started over and was able to give a great performance despite her failing the first time. After her performance, though, she looked so frustrated and looked as if she was in tears but the crowd continued to support her with a loud cheer and applause.

Grammys 2017: Lady Gaga and Metallica, Demi Lovato Performs; Best Rap Album, Best Country Album

Lady Gaga took the stage with Metallica after Taraji Henson from the TV series “Empire” presents the award for Best Rap Album. The award went to Chance the Rapper for “Coloring Book.”

Best Country Album Winner Sturgill Simpson and The DapKings perform on stage. Moments after, Demi Lovato, Tori Kelly and Little Big Town sing “Stayin’ Alive,” “Tragedy” and “How Deep is your Love” to pay tribute to one of the legends in the music industry, Bee Gees.

Grammys 2017: Song of the Year; Bruno Mars, Pentatonix, Chance the Rapper Performs

James Corden then introduces 5-time Grammy Award winner, Celine Dion, who presented the award for Song of the Year. The award went to Adele for “Hello.” Right after, Bruno Mars covered “Let’s Go Crazy” paying tribute to the Prince.

Grammy Award acapella group, Pentatonix, sang a Micheal Jackson hit, “ABC” after the break. Then, host James Corden called Halsey and Jason Derulo on stage to introduce the next performer, New Artist of the Year, Chance the Rapper. He sang together with Kirk Franklin and sang a mash up of “How Great Is Our God” and one of his hits.

Grammy Awards: Adele Wins Record of the Year, Album of the Year

Tim Mcgraw and Faith Hill was introduced on stage to present this year’s Grammy Awards. The Grammy went to Adele fo “Hello.” When Adele accepted the award she said she loved Beyonce and even called her her idol, she said “You move my soul, I want you to be my mother.”

For the last award of the night, Album of the Year. The Grammy went to — Adele for “25.” After thanking her family friends and family, she again mentioned Beyonce and how  “Lemonade” album was so monumental. Adele then again swore and said, “we “***ing adore you,” referring to Beyonce of course. She also mentioned how Beyonce’s album made her black friends empowered.
