This news sent scores of fans in a frenzy especially since the animator retired from film-making three years ago. Hayao Miyazaki: This Time Will Be His Last According to a report in The Hollywood Reporter, Miyazaki revealed his plans during an interview on Japan’s NHK network. During the program, aptly titled “Hayao Miyazaki – The Man Who Isn’t Finished,” Miyazaki said he was working on a computer-generated short titled “Boro The Caterpillar.” However, he was not satisfied with work on the film so far. Thus, he wants to turn it into a full-length feature film. In a Guardian report, Miyazaki also said that the material had the potential as a feature. This prompted him to talk to Studio Ghibli about the possibility of making it into a full-length animated film. Miyazaki’s roster of animated feature films include anime classics “Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind,” “Castle in the Sky,” “My Neighbor Totoro,” “Princess Mononoke,” “Spirited Away,” “Howl’s Moving Castle.” Most of his films received awards and accolades not only for their animation but also for their storytelling. His work also includes themes such as taking care of the environment, feminism and pacifism. Like PilipinasPopcorn on Facebook for more updates.
