The poster features co-stars in the lead roles, Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards smiling with their hands around each other as they take a walk down the streets of Hong Kong. The entirety of the movie was shot in Hong Kong and follows two overseas Filipino workers who fall in love. The teaser trailer has fans drooling and from the looks of it, Bernardo’s character plays the role of a houseworker while Richards is a bartender. It is hard not to get excited about the movie and running to purchase your ticket as soon as possible. But if you’re still skeptical, here are some reasons Hello, Love, Goodbye should entice you. Star Cinema Love Teams Both Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards belong to separate love teams. Both have their fandoms when it comes to their relationship and as we know, fandoms stan the hardest and don’t play around. Kathryn Bernardo has been in a seven-year relationship with recording artist and actor, Daniel John Ford Padilla. The couple, named by fans as “KathNiel” even celebrated their anniversary this month, so when the news that both Bernardo and Richards will be playing love interests in the upcoming movie, suffice to say, fans were less than pleased and took out their frustrations on Twitter. Did anyone say drama? Do you remember Mr. and Mrs. Smith? Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie? This is something like that. Popularly called AlDub or Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza. While the common consensus by both movie stars is that their relationship on and off-set was strictly professional, no-one could deny how cozy they both were and that marriage? Yeah right, ‘professional’. Their popularity boomed on TV until it ended with Maine’s open letter. Later on, Maine would admit that she and Kapamilya actor Arjo Atayde were exclusively dating. If this doesn’t entice you as much, the next one will. GMA-7 Star and ABS-CBN Star Cinema Stars in one movie If you have been following the Filipino movie industry for a while, then you would know this already but if you haven’t, here’s a quick trivia. GMA-7 and Star Cinema have been competing with each other for the title of number one motion company in the Philippines for years. It is a battle Star Cinema is winning as they currently hold the position as the country’s largest motion picture company in terms of revenue, ticket sales, and films released annually. The highest grossing movie from the company is coincidentally Kathryn Bernardo’s last movie with current boyfriend, Daniel Padilla, The Hows of Us. Bernardo is under Star Cinema. And with the success of her previous movie The Hows of Us, which she starred in with her real-life partner Daniel Padilla, everyone expected Padilla in the role and not Richards. On the other hand, Alden Richards is the poster boy of GMA, he is sometimes referred to as GMA7’s Primetime Prince. Richards has never done a movie before with Star Cinema, possibly as a sign of loyalty. But having seen how successful The Hows of Us was, surely that might have changed his mind? Not according to him though, in an interview with ABS-CBN, Richards said that he took up the rare offer to work with Bernardo because he wants to challenge himself, “It’s a great honor and experience kasi I’m really in that stage of exploring the craft and my capability as an actor,” the actor said. Richards added that another reason is that he wants to work with director Cathy Garcia-Molina because he is a fan of her work on One More Chance. View this post on Instagram So stoked!!!! Direk Cathy Garcia-Molina’s upcoming film will star Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards! #KathrynAldenMovie2019 #StarCinema A post shared by ABS-CBN Films, Star Cinema (@starcinema) on Mar 11, 2019 at 11:49pm PDT Hello, Love, Goodbye: Locations An entertainment journalist for ABS-CBN, MJ Felipe tweeted that ninety percent of the movie will be shot in Hongkong according to director Cathy Garcia-Molina. The movie being shot in Hong Kong no doubt gives the premise of overseas Filipino workers a real and more realistic outlook while possibly showcasing the beauty of Hong Kong. An incident occurred during the shooting of the movie, however, while shooting a scene in the movie that required both actors to be in public, Bernardo and Richards were ambushed by fans. The eager fans disrupted shooting for the day in their bid to capture images with the celebrities and this got the director upset. In her attempt to disperse the crowd and carry on with the shoot, the director lashed out saying “I’m sorry, I’m sorry… Nahihirapan na kami. Paalisin na kami dito. Hindi na kami pababalikin. Bakit hindi niyo maintindihan yun?”. There has been no word yet on whether all scenes were shot in Hong Kong, audiences will have to wait for when the movie is released. Hello, Love, Goodbye: Plot and Cast Details The teaser trailer introduced us to both characters as they are immersed in their work, after a while it seems they get to know each other. And during their exploration of the city and having conversations about food, Joy (Kathryn Bernardo) blurts out that she loves Ethan (Alden Richards). Going by the movie’s oxymoronic title, it seems like both Ethan and Joy may not have a happy ever ending after all. Cast includes Alden Richards, Kathryn Bernardo and Maymay Entrata in an undisclosed role. Watch Hello, Love, Goodbye when it hits theatres on July 31, 2019. Facebook Comments
