Hotel Jen breaks through as the first hotel brand in the Shangri-La group to introduce autonomous Relay robots in Asia. On November 9, Hotel Jen Orchardgateway and Tanglin Singapore officially welcomed robots “Jeno” and “Jena” to the team. The duo will be delivering amenities and local favourites from in-room the dining menu to guests upon orders placed. This state-of-the-art technology is developed by Savioke.
Jeno and Jena stand at almost one metre tall and are stationed at the hotel lobby round-the-clock. The have the ability to move unmanned around the hotel at half the pace of an average human walking speed which is about 2.5 km/h. These sophisticated “Relay” fully-autonomous delivery robots are a first of its kind. They increase productivity, revenue and delight for people across various busy environments including markets, industries, and organizations. Since 2014, the Relay robots have made over 150,000 autonomous deliveries in over 70 dynamic environments such as logistics, hotels, office buildings, and high rise apartments.
Relay Robots Jeno and Jena Undoubtedly has the Human Touch
Now that Jeno and Jena are part of the team, they are dapper with their bright uniforms in turquoise and pink – the hotel’s brand colors. Included in their uniform is an image of the signature bicycle image that simply expresses that sense of travel. Further, Toby Tan from Band Doodlers designed a jacket and tie for Jeno and a scarf or Jena. These are reflective of the concept of a butler solidifying the value of quality service.
