Tourists usually either settle for a splash on the beach or a hike in the mountains but the Indokno Rock Island Resort provides a breathtaking view of the virgin mountains while taking a splash in their pool. Mr. William Banoca, the proud owner of this family-business resort was very accommodating and his family is hospitable. When we decided to have a first-hand experience of what the Indokno resort has to offer, they made sure to attend to our needs and get us settled in before they get back to their work. Personally, the resort seems to give out a sense of isolation from civilization. It felt like a perfect place to forget about the deadlines and the work and the rush and every responsibility on your shoulder and take the time to focus on loosening up. Indokno Rock Island Resort Indokno Rock Island Resort, Unique features for a unique experience Aside from the fresh breeze given off by nature and the warm welcome, the cool water in the pool would complete your relaxation. They have a kiddie pool with a dinosaur and frog- shaped slides for kids to enjoy. The adult pool has 5ft, 6ft, and 7ft depth. While having mentioned that the resort lies in the mountains, uniquely, school of fishes (tilapia) and carpet fishes inhabit the ponds beside the pools. It serves both as the resorts’ attraction and for commercial purposes. According to Mr. Banoca, the resort operated in 2014. It is meant to be a place for relaxation and enjoyment after a tiring day. Their mission is to have families and friends develop a closer and stronger bond and escape the city life even just for a while. Before the resort was established, it was surrounded by many rocks which explain the big stone at the bottom of the adult pool. If you are ever worried about the disadvantages of chlorinated pools, Mr. Banoca says not to worry because the water comes from a nearby spring and is 100 percent natural. He says that this is to avoid the disadvantages of the chlorine-sanitized pool like itchy red eyes, dry skin, and even dry hair. The cottages also held significant meanings. Each of the three cottages is named after their ancestors “Bogan,” “Shalmia,” and “Sagandoy” as their way of preserving their memory. Their cottage price ranges from Php 500.00 to Php 600.00. No need to go far because the Indokno Rock Island Resort is just an hour away from Baguio City and 10 minutes walking distance from the road. After a splash, Mr. Banoca also suggests that guests also visit the Aran Cave located a few minutes from the resort. It has a lot of natural rock formations and mini pools too. True to their word and mission our group did develop a stronger bond and all the stress seem to ease away as we enjoyed every moment of our stay and it is a place that you definitely want to come to.
