Say Goodbye To Disappearing Instagram Live Videos, Here’s How You Can Save Them To Your Phone

Instagram Live Videos

One of the most popular social media platforms, Instagram, says users may now save live videos to mobile phones at the end of each broadcast. The Facebook-owned company made the announcement on Monday, March 20.

In August last year, Instagram introduced Instagram stories. In November, Instagram rolled out Live video in Stories. The feature is similar to Facebook live. Users could take a video while viewers watch them and comment real time. The thing is, once Instagram Stories are done, these videos would disappear. Now, Instagram enabled a feature that every user has been wanting to have: the ability to save.

How To Save Live Videos On Instagram, New Feature

Live videos on Instagram usually disappears from the app when done. Now this will still be the case but a user will now have the ability to save the video after each broadcast for users to re-watch the video anytime.

After each broadcast hit the “Save” option found in the upper right corner and that’s it! Of course, the comments, likes, number of views and other live interactions won’t be saved, but the memory will be saved forever.

Once users hit save, tap “Done” and the live video will be saved to your phone and then disappears in the app.

Instagram Updates

At the end of 2016, Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom hinted to Wired that live video would be something that the company will be investing more in. Kevin Systrom said, “When I look at the tech world, “I see interesting things happening in the different formats we care about: video and photo. I pay a lot of attention to that to figure out how we can remix ideas or come up with very original things ourselves.”

Instagram says this is just the first of many improvements that it will be making this year. This new feature that allows a user to save live videos definitely makes Insta-fans more satisfied and more expectant of what is to come.
