Actress Isabel Granada passed away on Nov 4, due to a brain hemorrhage which affected her heart. Granada, who shot to fame as a child and teen star in the 1980s was one of the biggest names in local show business. She started her career in the late German Moreno’s show “That’s Entertainment.” She starred in films like “Shake, Rattle & Roll II” and “Naked Under the Moon.” Granada was also a singer who recorded two albums. During her stay in Qatar, the actress was still performing.
On Oct 25, news broke out about Isabel being in a coma at a hospital in Qatar. She was said to have suffered from a brain hemorrhage which indicated a brain aneurysm that affected her heart. Her husband, Arnel Cowley, released a statement the next day saying the actress was in a critical yet stable condition. News of her passing has struck a chord amongst her former showbiz friends. As well as those who admired the late actress.
Celebrities Send Thoughts And Prayers to Isabel Granada
After a week in a coma, people were shocked to hear the news of her death. Stars such as Ruffa Gutierrez, Ma. Assunta Ledesma and Camille Prats-Yambao tweeted their reactions to Granada’s untimely death. Gutierrez and Granada have been long-time friends. She sends her condolences and her sadness losing a childhood friend. Guiterrez was also part of the “Monday Group” with Granada in the in the popular 80’s teen show “That’s Entertainment.”
Ledesma and Prats-Yomabao shared how heartbreaking the news was and how Granada would always have a place in their hearts. Some even hoped for her recovery.
Director Sean Lim paid tribute to the late actress on Instagram. The “Xenoa” director has worked with Granada before. He hoped to work on another film this year with Granada but sadly was not given the chance due to circumstance. He posted a lovely picture of Granada accompanied with a loving message for the late actress.
Martin Nievera also posted his condolences on Instagram. He calls Ganada a sweet dear friend and one of the sweetest people he knew. Ganda died at Hamad General Hospital in Doha, where she was rushed after she collapsed at a fan meet-and-greet in the same city on October 25. Her remains are set to arrive in the Philippines from Doha, Qatar on Thursday.
