Hardly a celebrity, Isabelle Duterte has captured the limelight after her pre-debut photos went viral on the internet. Since then, she’s invited unwanted attention into her personal matters– almost making her a public figure instead of a ‘natural person.’ Netizens– including Special Assistant to the President, Bong Go’s son, have bashed, criticized, and publicized contentious posts from President Rodrigo Duterte’s granddaughter– all of which were particularly centered on one very special day.
Isabelle Duterte draws flak from Bong Go’s son, Chrence Go
Surely you’ve seen the photos of Isabelle Duterte sporting a glamorous gown posing lavishly with the Presidential seal poking out from behind her. Despite its aesthetic appeal, netizens roared disrespectful against the young debutante.
Many found the photoshoot to be excessive, insolent, and ridiculous. And in response to these, the 18-year-old Duterte retorted that bashers could instead ‘do something useful with the freedom you are given’ and to ‘find the maturity to focus on more alerting issues.’ Click here to see photo.
She also relayed to her haters that they can book a tour around the Malacañang Palace for free– the same way she apparently did. In fact, we are all currently waiting for the next round of unfiltered Twitter ‘truth exchange’ between Isabelle Duterte and Bong Go’s son, Chrence Go. If you haven’t heard about the two, here’s the story in a gist: Chrence slammed Isabelle’s debutant photos at Malacañang. Then, Isabelle bit him back.
Christian Lawrence’s tweet read: “Ang weird makita nung pre-debut photoshoot ni….Parang may sense of entitlement and dating. Nagpose pa siya sa likod ng seal…Weird, so weird…” Isabelle instantly took notice of this and daringly replied that Chrence Go’s father himself had something to do with it. Check a screenshot of the posts below via a user on Twitter.
But that’s not all, she followed it up with another tweet that threatened some sort of ‘scandalous family secret.’ She tweeted: “You’ve been to places I’ve never been to. So don’t hit me with that entitlement bullsh**, kasi you know who between the two of our families hold a bigger scandal. If you’ve lost that much respect for our family, I won’t hesitate to spill everything I know about yours.” Talk about fire!
Followers of Isabelle would know that this isn’t exactly the first time the 18-year-old expressed her discontent over people she knows. If you could recall, she tweeted something last year about her father *ahem* ruining her Christmas– which resulted in a public scolding by her father in Facebook.
The knot that ties Isabelle Duterte and Chrence Go
We know very little about Chrence Go– even less his tweets since he changed his settings to private. All we know for sure is that he’s the President’s Special Assistant Bong Go’s teenage son. Bong Go has been closely linked to the Duterte family.
Unsurprisingly, his Wikipedia profile says that he has served as President Duterte’s personal aide since 1998. He’s even dubbed as Duterte’s ‘utility man’ and is famous for always appearing in the president’s photoshoots. According to the page, the job description includes handling personal and official matters of the president– and to everyone else. So it wouldn’t be a surprise if the families of Go and Duterte are good friends. Which would mean that Isabelle’s little claim can hold a degree of authenticity to it.
Isabelle Duterte’s 18th Birthday Bash: Talk about Grandeur, Chrence Go is present
Photos from the incredibly elegant birthday celebration were all posted on Instagram. The birthday girl wore a royal blue dress– Pia Wurtzbach style– that glittered so brightly, it could serve as a substitute for the stars. The event was held at The Peninsula Manila, and all guests were served a generous serving of a five-course meal.
Meanwhile, dessert included a towering cake decorated with cute pink flowers. Unfortunately, President Rodrigo wasn’t present in the birthday bash– and so was her father, Paolo Duterte. But surprisingly, Mindanao Politics reports that Chrence Go attended the party, and even took photos with the debutante. Guess Chrence chose to turn the other cheek– and that means we won’t be hearing any more truth bombs from the two anytime soon.
