The X Factor UK, Ivy Grace Paredes

Ivy Grace Paredes, 33-year-old mom from Malaybalay, Bukdinon, was recently forced to back out from the X Factor UK. Her rendition of “All the Man That I Need” during the auditions,  made her an instant trending topic on social media. As we recall, Simon Cowell described her performance as more than amazing.

Ivy Grace Paredes: Denied Visa

Ivy survived the The X Factor Bootcamp singing Maria CArey’s “One Sweet Day” with two other contestants. It was until finalists were due to travel to the US for Judges Houses, when she was forced to back out from the competition, because reports said her visa was denied due to some issues in the past.

Ivy Grace Paredes: ‘I was not Denied’

Paredes broke her silence after news have been circulating about her visa being denied. In an exclusive interview with Gulf News tabloid, she says the US embassy officer said there were no problems with her papers, it’s just that she applied under the wrong visa category. She was advised to apply for an artist visa instead.

She further says, “I was forced to quit, yes it’s true. I had issues with my visa. But I was not denied. The visa was granted a little late. The process took three to four days and the X Factor team had to travel in two days.”

By the time her visa was released, it was the last day of filming of the Judges Houses segment. It was too late. Ivy was assured however, that she can still join next year and will not have to submit a video audition, only for the live audition.

Paredes is back in the Philippines and will be due to return to Dubai on October 21 for a show. In her interview Paredes said she was worried people will stop supporting her when she’s out of the competition, she was surprised to see instead that her support increased three fold. She had this to say on her Twitter page.
