Charice Pempengco recently changed her name to Jake Zyrus and made sure the whole world knows about it. The announcement was made public through his social media platforms. Now, he wants to take this change a notch higher as he considers a different alteration. This change is related to his current decisions and says there’s a possibility for it to happen. The singer confesses that surgically changing his sex is now in an option despite his statement years ago.

Charice Pempengco to Jake Zyrus, Complete Transformation

“Charice” turning into “Jake Zyrus” came as a shock, but now the singing sensation clarifies it’s just his screen name. Jake is still legally “Charice” at birth and has no plans to change that. But there’s one thing on the “Pyramid” singer’s mind, and that’s his physical transformation into a man.

In an interview with host Boy Abunda in “Tonight with Boy Abunda”, Jake says “Finally, I feel complete.” This is in regards to coming out as a transgender and wanting to be a man. Though when it comes to considering an even bigger change, a physical sex change, the singer also relays his thoughts.

Jake gives the answer of “Someday” when it comes to undergoing sexual reassignment surgery. He adds that they have already talked about it and that for him it may make him feel even more complete as a man. He admits to considering the action now, but years back the singer had a different answer to that.

The Interview Three Years Ago

Jake expresses himself to Oprah Winfrey in her “Where are they now?” segment three years ago.  At that time, Jake tells Oprah what he felt as a child and when he finally realizes his true sexuality. Included in the interview was the big question of undergoing a sex change.

“My soul is male, but I’m not going to go through that stage where I’m going to change everything,” Jake says at the time. He talks about only changes in appearance like hair and clothes.

Family Opinions

Surrounding the whole incident are the insights of Jake’s family with his decision. His mother, Raquel Pempengco, has Jake’s best interest in mind and supports him. The singer’s grandmother, Thess Pineda, on the other hand, is not that pleased.

Jake says that he accepts whatever his grandmother says about him out of his love for her and that he understands. in the “Tonight with Boy Abunda” interview, he adds that someday his grandmother will see the happiness he feels.
