American folk star James Taylor cancelled his Manila concert which was supposed to be on February 25. The reason being is because he wanted to “make a political stand.” The acclaimed singer posted his message sending “heartfelt” apologies on Twitter and on his website on December 21.

James Taylor Cancels Manila Gig, A ‘Political Stand’

In James Taylor’s message he said, “I offer my heartfelt apologies for any inconvenience or disappointment my Filipino friends but I must announce that I will not be performing in Manila this February.”

James Taylor on his message said he “was concerned about recent reports from the Philippines of summary executions of suspected offenders without trial or judicial process.” He assures fans that all tickets sold “will of course be fully refunded” and that this doesn’t affect his gigs scheduled for Hongkong, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand.

James Taylor cancelled his Manila gig because he was making a “political” stand and because of this, Twitterverse has had mixed reactions on the issue. Here are some of the Twitter posts you must see.
