PBA basketball star James Yap says there is nothing wrong with his birthday greeting to his son with TV personality Kris Aquino, who is in hot water for her rants about James’ feature on Korina Sanchez’s “Rated K”. Their son, Bimby, celebrated his 11th birthday on April 11. Yap posted on his Instagram a picture of him and Bimby with “Happy birthday Bimb! I miss you and think about you every day,” as part of the caption.
In a short exclusive interview with PEP, he said it’s his right as a father to greet his son on his birthday. “Birthday ng anak ko, grineet ko lang naman. Wala naman yatang masama dun kapag i-greet mo yung sarili mong anak. Tsaka na-miss ko siya. Wala naman atang masama dun,” he told them. At first, he did not want to be interviewed because the issue would just grow. But he wanted to clear things up for the sake of his son.
Why Kris was against this greeting
Kris Aquino called out her ex-husband for posting that greeting. She also took to Instagram and posted a video of a series of quotes to Taylor Swift’s song “Look What You Made Me Do.”
Part of the lengthy caption was “Ngayon patas na tayo, hindi na ko pwedeng ma-accuse ng power tripping.” She added later in the post, “Nanahimik pa rin ako about that kasi feeling ko- wag mo kaming guluhin, peaceful tayo… Eh humirit ka w/ your birthday post. So bakit nga ba hindi kayo nagkikita?”

She did not feel his sincerity as a father because he does not put as much effort as a father should.
