January Birthdays: Filipino Celebrities Turning a Year Older This Month

January is the start of the year and everyone who turns a year older on this particular month is lucky enough to celebrate two things at a time. 1. Piolo Pascual, January 12

We all know this handsome actor, singer, model, and producer. His real name is Piolo Jose Nonato Pascual and he has been in showbiz since 1992. He joined theater when he was just in the 5th grade. He studied AB General Education at the University of Sto. Tomas but later shifted to Physical Therapy. But in 1996, the actor had to put everything on hold when he had to migrate to the US. He lived in Los Angeles and worked as an ER representative where his mother worked. when he turned 21, he decided to pursue his acting career in Manila. He turns 42 this year.

2. Toni Gonzaga and Alex Gonzaga, January 20 and January 16

Celestine Cruz Gonzaga, wife of director Paul Soriano, is a TV host, actress, model and singer. She’s been active on screen since 1997 who started on GMA and eventually transferred to ABS-CBN in 2005. Did you know that Toni was actually a Barangay Kagawad for one term and was also a Sunday School teacher in Taytay United Methodist Church. She studied Mass Communication for around two years and then shifted to AB English. She’s currently enrolled  the University of Philippines pen University taking up multimedia studies. Toni turns 35 this month.

Her sister, Alex Gonzaga, actress and TV host, also turns a year older this January. She turns 31 soon.

3. Alden Richards, January 2

Ang Pambansang Bae, Alden Richards is a name everyone knows for sure. Born Richard Reyes Faulkerson Jr., this actor, host, model and recording artist is best known as the other half of Maine Mendoza in AlDub. He won  his first Best Actor award for his portrayal of José Rizal in Ilustrado. Alden wanted to be a pilot but after his mom passed on he decided to pursue what she wanted him to be: an actor. Alden turned 27 this month.

4. Kyla, January 5

Kyla, born Melanie Hernandez Calumpad, is known as the queen of R&B. Her first hit was “Hanggang Ngayon” in 2000. She started dating PBA ayer Rich Alvarez in 2005 and in 2011 they announced their engagement. In 2012, she gave birth to a healthy baby boy. Her recent performance was on December 15, 2018 with Boy II Men at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. She turned 38 this year.

5.  Sharon Cuneta, January 6

The Mega Star turned 53! This actress, talkshow host, endorser and a reality show judge has had 54 films, 10 television shows, and recorded 40 albums through out the years. Enough said.

6. Raymond and Richard Gutierrez, January 21

The Gutierrez twins turn a year older in a few days! Raymond and Richard were born in Beverly Hills, California and are the younger siblings of actress Ruffa Gutierrez. Now although they are twins, they are different in many ways. Richard is an actor and model. He and actress Sarah Lahbati have two kids. Raymond, on the other hand, is more active in the fashion industry. He is a photographer, endorser, and a magazine editor. As to sexuality, well, that still remains to be a mystery. Raymond and Richard both turn 35 soon.

7. Liza Soberano, January 4

One of the prettiest face we know, Liza Soberano. The Miss Universe material turned 21 on January 4. She recently shared photos on Instagram just days after she cleared her account. Apparently, she spent her birthday in “paradise.”

More Filipino celebs are turning a year older this January. Yasmin Kurdi turns 30 on January 25 and Vicki Belo turns 63 also on January 25. Popular like these celebrities or not, happy happy birthday!
