Jasmine Curtis-Smith Wins Best Actress In 2016 Cinema One Originals Film Festival

Jasmine Curtis-Smith won Best Actress at the Cinema One Originals film Festival on Sunday, November 20 at the Dolphy Theater in ABS-CBN Compound. She won for her performance in “Baka Bukas” as a lesbian in love with her best friend. The movie won two more awards including Audience Choice Award.

Sunstar reported that during Jasmine’s acceptance speech she said, “Mabuhay ang LGBT community! We have a voice. I am with you guys whether I am LGBT or not, I am with you. I stand with you guys and I will be with you all the way.”

Jasmine posted a photo on Instagram captioned “Let me know if dreams can come true.”

Jeff Ortega, Proud Boyfriend

Jasmine Curtis-Smith’s non-showbiz boyfriend Jeff Ortega could be more proud of his girlfriend. On Twitter, he tweeted “Congratulations my love for a deserving win.” According to PEP Jeff also supported Jasmine by joining her at “Baka Bukas” gala night on November 16 at the Glorietta Cinema Makati City. Jeff Ortega comes from a prominent political family in La Union and runs his own business.

“Baka Bukas” by Samantha Lee won Audience Choice Award and Best Sound Trophy. Cinema One Originals 2016 closes announcement of winners on November 22.
