There is still much talk about Charice Pempengco’s transition to Jake Zyrus. Fans aren’t the only ones showing support for the singer. Jesi Corcuera of Pinoy Big Brother has also shown support saying he knows exactly what Jake is going through being a transman himself.
Jesi Corcuera was part of Pinoy Big Brother Lucky Season 7. It was on this show in November that he admitted he was a transman. The former Starstruck contestant said he went through a surgery in 2013 to transition into becoming who he is now. He said through a PEP report then that his goal is to spread equality. When asked to define what a transman is, Jesi said it is a person being born in a girl’s body with the heart and mind of a man. A transman is also someone who goes through HRT or hormone replacement therapy, transplant or surgery. Well this transman has just shown support for Jake Zyrus,
Transman Jesi Corcuera shows support for Jake Zyrus, calls him ‘Brotha’
Jake Zyrus was a guest on ABS-CBN’s Gandang Gabi Vice hosted by Vice Ganda on Sunday, July 9. Apparently, Jesi was tuned in and was watching the episode. Jesi then posted a series of tweets expressing what he felt as he sees Jake on screen sharing his life and recent change.
On Jesi’s first tweet, he called Jake ‘brotha’ and mentioned how proud he was of him. He then posted another tweet expressing how he and Jake are the same. He said, “Some men are born in their bodies, others have to fight for it. That’s us.” Jesi also called themselves LGBT twins through a hashtag.
Jesi went on to say he felt emotional because he knows exactly what Jake is going through. Jake sent a reply saying, “Thanks, man.” Jesi said, “Got you, bro.”
