Jeslyn Santos is the first Asian to be crowned Miss United Continents 2016 among 27 candidates from around the world. In the pageant on September 24, Jeslyn’s beaming smile and crowd-pleasing personality brought her success during the coronation night at the Palacio De Cristal in Guayaquil, Ecuador.

Jeslyn Santos: Exceptional in Spanish Q&A
The 23-year-old Filipina from Bulacan was outspoken in Spanish as she spoke on her opinions during the question and answer portion. Her bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism has brought her success as she wowed the audience with her exceptional skills. Translated to English, she expressed that, “We are one if we act and think as one. We should not treat each other as strangers and competitors but as brothers and sisters. Although great oceans and land divide us, love always unites us,”
Miss United Continents: An extraordinary success
According to the official page of Miss United Continents, the pageant began in the year 2006 in Ecuador and was participated by 21 official queens of America who were finalists in the prestigious Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss International and Miss World pageants. Due to its extraordinary success, it expanded and was spread worldwide through Maria del Carmen Aguayo, the current director of Miss Ecuador.
Miss United Continents aims to choose the Queen of continents, integrate these contents developing a declaratory union through the country’s ambassadors, and to promote tourism for the City of Guayaquil. Once crowned, the new Miss United Continents is ready to fulfill the programs and activities in nations who need such.
To be a candidate, one should not be older than 26 years old and should have auspices of respectable and prestigious organizations specializing in beauty pageants. It is important that the candidate has participated in important worldwide events.
