Heather Wells of CBC posted on Twitter a photo of people lined up to get a taste of the famous signature dishes of Jollibee. A Filipino in line who held number 277 tells CBC, “It feels like home. I grew up eating Jollibee so yeah, I’m really excited.” Another pinoy, Alberto Basallo, who was 91st on the line said hek new exactly what to get. He said, “Oh, everything that’s on the menu — a little bit of spaghetti, some rice, chicken, everything on it,” he said, adding that he’ll be getting some to go as well.” Jose Minana, Jollibee’s group president for North America and Foreign Franchise Brands tells Channel News Asia, “”It has been a joy to see the happiness families experience when visiting our locations in the US and we are thrilled to now bring that same feeling into Canada at such a festive time like this.” Mayor Bowman Of Winnipeg Tries Jollibee On Twitter, City Councilor for St. James Brooklands Winnipeg, Scott Gillingham, posted a photo on Twitter showing he and Mayor Bowman with the iconic Jollibee mascot. CBC reports that Winnipeg was chosen as the first location for Jollibee because is has the largest population of Filipinos in the country. This is not the first branch that Jollibee will be opening. They plan on opening more locations in North America and United States as well.
