SHINee, Jonghyun

On Dec 21, family, friends, and acquaintances attended the funeral procession of Jonghyun, lead singer of South Korean group SHINee. In Japan, fans think that the moon turning pearl aqua green on the same day was a sign that it was the late singer giving a message. In other news, a certain show reported about Jonghyun’s death using actor Hong Jong Hyun.

On Monday, Dec 18, Kim Jong-hyun, better known as Jonghyun of SHINee was found unconscious at a rented studio apartment in Cheongdam-dong in Southern Seoul at 6:10 pm. His sister who made the 119 call thought that he was committing suicide. She received text messages from Jonghyun with words such as “let me go” and “final farewell.” Jonghyun was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead after performing CPR. Jonghyun’s funeral: #youdidwellJongHyun trending, TV show mistakenly uses Hong Jong Hyun’s photo for report

At 9 am on Dec 21, family and friends said goodbye to Jonghyun for the last time at the funeral procession at Asan hospital in Seoul. A report by AllKpop says SHINee members Onew, Minho, Key, and Taemin carried the coffin to the hearse. Joining them were the singer’s family and Super Junior’s Leeteuk, Donghae, and Eunhyuk.

Meanwhile, in Japan, fans notice a pearl aqua green dot in the sky which they believed was the moon behind the sun. This was seen on the same day of Jonghyun’s funeral. Fans think that it was the singer trying to send a message saying he made it up safely. The hashtag #YoudidwellJongHyun went trending and fans share messages for Jonghyun and share photos of the pearl aqua green ‘moon.’ Pearl aqua green is JongHyun’s fanclub color. See tweets below.

In other news, Channel A’s “The Straightforward Show” released a report about Jonghyun’s funeral procession but used a photo of actor Hong Jong Hyun instead. A separate report by AllKpop says near the end of the show, an apology was made by Lee Nam Hee for the mistake. A similar mistake was made by NBC Chicago. These wasn’t taken lightly by fans.
