Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia are set to do a film together this 2017. Star Cinema held a story conference for the movie and fans were able to get bits and pieces of what the movie is all about. Here’s what we know so far.

In a report by PEP, it stated that the said conference was held on April 18. JoshLia together with the director helming the upcoming movie shared the story line and a few more information that could get any fan more excited.

JoshLia movie 2017, 3 Things We Know So Far

1. JoshLia movie to be helmed by “Hugot” director Antoinette Jadaone

During the conference, it was revealed that Antionette would be directing the upcoming film. Antionette is dubbed as the “Blockbuster Hugot Director of the Philippines.” She directed “That Thing Called Tadhana” starring Angelica Panganiban and JM de Guzman. 2. JoshLia movie, a romantic comedy

Thanks to director Antoinette, fans now know the story of the upcoming JoshLia movie. In the report, Antoinette said the movie would be about a boy, Joshua, meeting a weird girl, Julia, who believes in aliens.

Joshua finds Julia so adorable so then he tries to ride along with the fantasies of Julia only to find out that Joshua also has a weird side. Antoinette shared, “In the process, they will experience in their young age a love that millennials don’t really experience at their age.” She called this type of love, ” a great love.”

3. Ronnie  Alonte not part of JoshLia movie

Julia Barretto is currently in the ABS-CBN TV series, “A Love To Last” and her character is paired with Ronnie Alonte. During the conference, however, Julia herself said Ronnie might not be part of the movie. She said, “I don’t think he’s part of this because he’s doing another movie under Star Cinema.”

Joshua, on the other hand, will be joining Janella Salvador and Elmo Magalona in an upcoming TV series, “Kung Kailangan Mo Ako.” No word if any of these stars will be part of the movie as well.

When asked about what Julia felt that Joshua was being paired with other stars, she said she still supports Joshua’s projects and added, “Whatever he does, I’m always gonna be proud of him, I’m always gonna be there to support him.” She ended with, “But I’m gonna keep him close, he’s not going anywhere! I’m keeping him close.”

The upcoming JoshLia film this 2017 is a movie to watch out for. Joshua and Julia have proven that their on-screen romance is surely a must see as they’ve had success in the MMFF movie, “Vince and Kath and James.” The pair have also touched the hearts of many in the “Maalalaala Mo Kaya” episode “Endless Love” in February. There are no release dates announced for the upcoming film of Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto. But, now that fans know what the story is about, the line on cinemas soon might just be as long as the wait. Meanwhile, fans can use the official hashtag for the upcoming movie, #JoshLiaMovie2017.
