President Rodrigo R. Duterte delivers a speech during the turnover rites of the Armed Forces of the Philippines at Camp Aguinaldo on Friday where he discussed historical facts which led to the Mindanao problem and other issues relating to peace and order and the campaign for change towards ending hostilities with the CPP-NPA, MILF and MNLF.

The Malacanang Palace has declared June 12, 2018 (Tuesday) as a regular national holiday for Independence Day. President Rodrigo Duterte has declared June 15, 2018 (Friday) also a holiday with Proclamation No. 514 for the observance of Eidul Fitr.  

Eid’l Fitr or Eidul Fitr is an important event for our Filipino Muslim citizens as this marks the last day of their month-long fast during Ramadan. The holiday is confirmed throughout the country.

According to The Summit Express,  Malacanang has also declared June 11, 15, 18, 19, 20, 21, 2018,  as special non-working holidays in selected areas for the celebration of important events such as founding anniversaries and local festivals.

June 11, 2018; Proclamation No. 502: Special Non-working holiday in the province of Rizal for the celebration of its 117th Founding Anniversary.

June 15, 2018; Proclamation No. 494: Special Non-Working day in the Municipality of Alegria, Surigao del Norte for the celebration of the 50th Founding Anniversary.

June 15, 2018; Proclamation No. 500: Special Non-working day in Angeles City, Pampanga in remembrance of the ruinous volcanic eruption of Mt. Pinatubo.

June 15, 2018; Proclamation No. 503: Special Non-working holiday in General Santos City for its 50th Charter Anniversary.

June 18, 2018; Proclamation No. 496: Special Non-Working day in the Municipality of Carmen, Davao del Norte for the celebration of its Founding Anniversary.

June 21, 2018; Proclamation No. 505: Special Non-working holiday in Rosario, Agusan del Sur in the celebration of the Yagi-Yagi Festival of Native Cultural Heritage.

Malacanang Palace also reaches out that it is proper for the people of the said areas be granted a chance to celebrate and give full participation to their local heritage and gatherings.
