K-Pop Star Rain To Wed Long Time Girlfriend Kim Tae Hee On Thursday

Korea pop star and actor Rain, formally known as Jung Ji Hoon is set to marry his longtime girlfriend, Korean drama actress Kim Tae Hee on Thursday, January 19. Rain surprised his fans and the public when he announced the news through his Instagram account. By sharing a photo of a handwritten letter, the actor said that he is ready to “become a respectable husband and man, as the head of a new family.”

Rain Writes Letter To Fans

The handwritten letter which he shared on Instagram was addressed primarily to his fans. According to an Inquistr report, he starts his letter with a wish that his fans were in good health despite the cold winter. He also thanked his fans for sticking with him throughout the years.

He then talks about how his and Kim Tae Hee’s love has grown, and because of this, they have “decided to form a bond.” He added this about his fiancee: “She has been protecting me by my side indefinitely, whether I was happy or facing difficulties, and has moved me through many things, all this time.”

He also apologizes to his fans that he is unable to share the details of their wedding. The couple has apparently decided to keep it quiet and simple, opting to hold it in a small Catholic church with family members in attendance.

Rain: Kim Tae Hee Is The “Best Present For Me”

Rain referred to Kim Tae Hee as the “best present” for him, which is also an acknowledgment of his recently released single “The Best Present.” According to a Billboard article, this single marks his return after a three-year absence from the music scene. The single was released over the weekend, on January 15.

It is also a collaboration between Rain and Psy, who is famous for his hit “Gangnam Style.” It however is not a dance song but is a ballad about a man’s love, which in this case refers to Kim Tae Hee. Billboard called in a “poignant song” and the music video as “elegant.”
