Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental 2017 Katarina Rodriguez

Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental 2017 Katarina Rodriguez denies reports that she is giving up her crown. Taking to social media, she posted statements on Twitter and Instagram.

According to a PEP.ph report, Rodriguez responded to reports coming out two days after coronation that she was not accepting the crown. An alleged official statement from the pageant organizer claims that Rodriguez “expressed” her non-acceptance.

Katarina Rodriguez Addresses Rumors

Rumors about her supposed resignation started when a pageant-related blog site said that there was a “shake-up” with the Bb. Pilipinas results. This was then followed by an alleged official statement Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BPCI) saying that Rodriguez “expressed that she may not accept the crown,” adding that they are waiting for her official resignation.

The PEP.ph report mentioned that the residency issue may be the reason for this.

On May 2, Rodriguez immediately addressed these rumors. According to CNN Philippines, she first tweeted about it, saying that she “never made any announcements that I’m not accepting the crown? Is it alright if everyone refrains from making assumptions first.”

She then took to Instagram to post a longer statement, adding that she could not possibly give up something she considers as “the most intense and fun experience” of her life. She also asked her friends and family to trust that she will make decisions based on what is in her heart and mind.
