ABS-CBN’s thrilling fantasy series La Luna Sangre dominated 2017 with resident Teen King and Queen Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo at the center of the action. Now, word is going around that the series will soon come to an end. So, what can fans expect next from KathNiel? According to Daniel: rest, relaxation, and a reunion with a familiar director.
A Much-Needed Break
In an interview with ABS-CBN in January, Daniel revealed that La Luna might end in two months. He also expressed his and Kathryn’s desire to go on a vacation after filming concludes. The two busy stars do seem to deserve a break from their hectic schedules. Daniel told MJ Felipe in the interview that once La Luna ends, they’ll have more time to focus on other activities. Among them, the variety show ASAP and their own endorsements. However, what he and Kathryn really want is a vacation.
Daniel also hinted at their plans for the distant future in an interview with PhilStar. In the video, which can be viewed here, he expresses a desire to part ways with his loveteam partner. Not for good, he hastens to explain. But so that the pair will have a chance to grow as actors separate from each other. However, Daniel also says that he and Kathryn don’t want to break up the loveteam and find other partners. They know that this would break the hearts of their loyal KathNiel fans. Daniel said, if he had to act in a movie without Kathryn, he would like to do a war film or psychological thriller. He also wants to explore different parts, such as that of a villain.
Reunion With Director Cathy Garcia Molina
And after that vacation? In the interview, Daniel also promised KathNiel fans a big treat. He and Kathryn will be part of a movie project reuniting them with Director Cathy Garcia Molina. Fans will remember her as the director behind She’s Dating the Gangster, which propelled KathNiel to new heights. Now, Daniel didn’t disclose many details on the movie. His shooting will apparently begin after he celebrates his birthday. Also, he and Kathryn are very excited for the project. On her part, Molina told ABS-CBN that the project with KathNiel will be one of her last movies before her retirement in 2019.
