Kathryn Bernardo And Daniel Padilla In ‘La Luna Sangre,’ 5 Things We Know So Far

La Luna Sangre

Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla stars in the new fantaserye “La Luna Sangre” which premieres this year. The production is under ABS-CBN’s Star Creatives and is directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina. “La Luna Sangre” will be included in the Primetime Bida evening block.

With its initial announcement in November last year, not much has been revealed. But, here are five things we know so far.

5 Things About Kathniel’s ‘La Luna Sangre’

1.’La Suna Sangre,’ Sequel To ‘Lobo,’ And Imortal,’

“La Luna Sangre” is an upcoming teleserye and the third installment of ABS-CBN’s “Lobo” in 2008 starring Piolo Pascual and Angel Locsin and “Imortal” starring Angel and  John Lloyd in 2011.

Almost a decade ago, “Imortal” became a popular hit. It was nominated for awards in the 25th Star Awards TV, Golden Screen TV Awards and the ASAP Pop Viewer’s Choice Awards. Angel Locsin and John Lloyd Cruz were nominated for outstanding performance of an actress and actor respectively for their role as Lyka and Mateo. The pressure is on Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla to somehow top the actors performances on “Imortal.”

2. Kathryn Bernardo as Amalia, Daniel Padilla as Jedidah

In November, ABS-CBN reported that during the media outfit’s trade event in November, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla were revealed to be lead stars on the upcoming fantaserye.

Kathryn plays the role of Amalia “Malia” Rodriguez. A mysterious girl who has the power to bring animals back to life. While Daniel Padilla plays the role of Jedidah Delgado, who may be the werewolf in the story and Malia’s love interest.

3. Romance, Horror-action Fantaserye

“La Luna Sangre” is a Philippine horror-action fantasy teleserye. Fans have yet to wonder how much of a horror film it is. “Lobo” was a supernatural-fantasy horror series and “Imortal” was drama, horror and fantasy as well.

“Lobo” and “Imortal” were about supernatural beings like werewolves. One thing that each of these TV series have in common is that they tell the romantic story of their lead roles.

4. La Luna Sangre is Spanish for ‘The Blood Moon’

In Spanish, “La Luna Sangre” means “The Blood Moon.” Since “Lobo” and “Immortal” were both about werewolves, it is safe to say that “La Luna Sangre” will also be supernatural in nature.

The “blood moon” is somehow related to a consecutive number of lunar eclipses. And whenever there’s a moon, there will always be a werewolf. What could be new? Fans have yet to find out.

5.’La Luna Sangre’ Trailer out

The upcoming fantaserye trailer was released in November. Since then not much has been reported. In the trailer, the past two prequels were featured, “Lobo” and “Imortal” which finally led to “La Luna Sangre.”

It shows Kathryn Bernardo’s character at a young age bringing a bird back to life. Few seconds after, it reveals her character all grown up and ended with Daniel Padilla’s fierce character.

No premiere dates were announced for the upcoming Kathniel fantaserye so fans would just have to wait a little bit more.
