Kim Chiu As the Ghost Bride Kim Chiu confirmed the news during the film’s press conference on Thursday, Feb. 2, according to ABS-CBN. Kim will be playing the role of the titular ghost bride. She expressed her excitement and said, “Sobra akong happy to represent the Chinese tradition… rich ang Pilipinas sa Chinese culture pero isa ‘to sa mga hindi masyadong alam… ang maging ghost bride.” Kimberly Sue Yap Chiu is of Chinese decent. She is the daughter of William Chiu, a Chinese businessman from Mindoro and Louella Yap who passed away in 2013. She and her four other siblings were raised by their paternal grand mother in Cebu. The actress and TV host took to Twitter and Instagram her excitement on playing the lead role in the upcoming film. In her tweet she said, “proud to represent my roots Filipino-Chinese in #The GhostBride from Star Cinema.” As to the cast and combination of talent in the movie, Director Chito S.
