This year, she celebrates her 28th birthday. With the success of her latest film “Da One That Ghost Away,” the 8 million sales on the movie’s first day proves that she’s still the Teen Big Winner who won our hearts before. DOTGA is a 2018 Filipino film directed by Tony Y. Reyes. It stars Kim Chiu, Enzo Pineda, and the loveteam MayWard or Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber. According to Star Cinema, the film accumulated 8 million worth of sales on its first day. Kim Chiu’s 28th birthday, it has been 12 years since ‘PBB’ Kim Chiu has become a household name after winning Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition in 2006. After which, ABS-CBN partnered her with ex-boyfriend Geral Anderson for the 2007 hit “Sana Maulit Muli.” Since then, she produced more iconic roles both for television and the big screen. In 2014, she starred in the film “Bride For Rent.” The film grossed 326 million in sales, naming it as one of Philippine’s most top-grossing films in history. She also played as Joo Yoo Rin in the Pinoy adaptation of the Korean TV show “My Girl” in 2008. As she celebrates her 12th year in showbiz this 2018, another milestone is along the way. This year, she celebrates her 28th birthday. Since Kim Chiu is one of the most-successful teen stars in the industry, she made friends with the industry’s top acts as well. Queen of all Media Kris Aquino sent Kim Chiu a bouquet of roses on her birthday. In an Instagram post, Kim Chiu wrote, “Got home to this surprise last night. Nawala antok ko nung nakita ko ‘to! Thank you ate Kris Aquino for this beautiful bouquet of roses! Love you always ate. I will always be your pangay. Happy birthday also to Bimb on the 19th! Take care ate, hope to see you soon when you get back! Thank you!” Kris Aquino and Kim Chiu are close friends. They starred in the hit Filipino film “Etiquette for Mistresses.” Claudine Barretto, Iza Calzado, and Cheena Crab are also part of the film. Kim Chiu played the role of Ina Del Prado, a new mistress of a famous politician. In the film, Kris trains Kim to become the mistress that she’s destined to become. For her birthday production, Kim Chiu sang live on the noontime show, “It’s Showtime!” Wearing a coral blue romper and knee-high boots, Chiu sang the Rachel Platten hit “Fight Song.” On Instagram, she wrote a note of thanks to the show. “Still in Cloud Nine! Thank you It’s Showtime for giving me the chance to sing live!” Meanwhile, her film Da One That Ghost Away is still showing in cinemas nationwide.
