PHOTO VIA STAR CINEMA (SCREENSHOT) DOTGA Official Poster Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Ex-Pinoy Big Brother housemates are in a shook-tacular horror comedy film titled ‘DOTGA: Da One That Ghost Away’ produced by Star Cinema. The film stars Kim Chiu, Ryan Bang, Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber (MayWard) together with Enzo Pineda, Moi Bien, Lassy, Pepe Herrera and Tetay. DOTGA is directed by Tony Y. Reyes who also directed the Vic Sotto series, “Enteng Kabisote.” DOTGA is a story about a paranormal expert Carmel Monseratt played by Kim Chiu and her “bebest” best friend Jerald “Jeje” Zee-Yan played by Ryan Bang who wants to save the house of her beloved grandmother from being sequestered. They have decided to form a squad of ghostbusters with their nonconformist buddies Bagang (Pepe Herrera), Ponzi (Lassy Marquez), and Basha (Moi Bien) in order to meet both ends. One day, Jack Colmenares, a rich architect and dashing eligible bachelor, played by Enzo Pineda meets with ‘P.E.K.T.U.S’ to exorcise his house of all the ghosts inside it – real malevolent ghosts! – in exchange for one million pesos. Carmel, Jeje, and the whole squad accepted the job offer and considered it as their last act. Little do they know, it will lead to all of them being entrapped inside Jack’s house with pesky and spiteful ghosts. Mayward On DOTGA: Here’s what we know New ‘laugh-team’ In the trailer released by ABS-CBN Star Cinema YouTube channel, the frames are filled with Kim Chiu and Ryan Bang or the ‘ChiKo’ (Chinita and Korean) tandem. They were also proclaimed the newest ‘love team’ because of their on-screen charm and humor. Add to that the funny lines and delivery of the casts. Their tandem was first announced the first day of February. “Sobrang suwerte ko,” Ryan said when asked about how he feels to be given the chance to work with the Chinita Princess as reported by Star Cinema. Director Tony Reyes also said that he’s seen the oozing rapport of ChiKo. “Maganda kasi kita agad ang rapport nila sa unang pagsasama-sama namin. Plus, nakapag-shoot na rin kami ni, Kim, eh. So nakita na namin kung paano ang atake sa characterization,” the director shared. Ryan’s first-ever lead actor starring film It’s Showtime host and Banana Sundae mainstay Ryan Bang started his career in local showbiz eight years ago when he joined PBB Teen Clash 2010. He first appeared as a starring actor in the movies ‘Kimi Dora and the Temple of Kyeme’ is 2012, ‘Beauty and the Bestie’ in 2015, ‘Born to Love You’ in 2012 and ‘Loving in Tandem’ last year to name some. “Kinakabahan po ako kasi first time ko po. Siyempre si Kim superstar siya, madami na siyang pelikula na nagawa. Ako po, overwhelmed ako kasi first time po na ako talaga ‘yung leading man,” the 26-year-old Korean comedian-actor revealed. When asked about his edge on Chiu’s previous leading men, the Korean actor/host said, “Meron ako isang plus points kina Kuya Gerald (Anderson) at Kuya Xian (Lim). Kasi ‘pag katabi sila ni Kim Chiu, maganda tingnan pero ‘pag ako ‘yung katabi ni Kim Chiu, lalo siya gumanda,” making everyone laugh. A ‘barkada’ story Direk Tony said in the said interview that the story, despite having a horror facade, is relatable, especially for ‘barkadas.’ ‘Ang istorya kasi magkakaibigan sila, tropa silang lima. Doon natin ipapakita ‘yung bonding at closeness talaga ng friendship, andun ‘yung love, may onting heartache na natural naman sa magkakaibigan,’ Direk Tony relayed. MayWard on the movie ‘Loving in Tandem’ stars Maymay Entrata and Edward Barbers are also joining the movie as themselves. Maymay will play the sister of Kim Chiu and Edward will play as her love interest. In the trailer, we see Kim and Maymay spoofing Maricel Soriano and Zsa Zsa Padilla in the movie ‘Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin.’ MayWard’s appearance on the project definitely adds to the reason why this one’s a must-see. Their natural humor and charisma on screen add more flavor to the humor and horror template. They were last seen on the big screen in “Loving in Tandem” in 2017. Fans are also really excited about the new project of the two together. Here are some reactions from social media: I’m sure super funny ang #DaOneThatGhostAway!
