Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Perhaps recognizing that Filipino KPop fans are the most die-hard of the lot, Korea’s prestigious KPop music awards, the Golden Disc Awards 2018 will be held in Manila. Local production company All Access Production announced that the awards will happen at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on Jan. 10 and 11, 2018. 5 Things To Know About The Golden Disc Awards 1. A first for the Philippines: It will be the first time that the Philippines will play such a big part in the history of the Korean music industry. Since its founding in 1986, most of the editions were hosted in South Korea except for those held in Osaka, Japan, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Beijing, China. 2. It will be a 2-day KPop fiesta. Unlike most music awards which take place on 1 night only, the Golden Disc Awards has always been known to deliver 2 nights of pure KPop entertainment. It also brings together all the best KPop artists and groups as they gather to be recognized for their work in the industry. 3. Everything and anything KPop. Judging by last year’s edition, fans will surely expect to see their favorite groups such as BTS, EXO, Super Junior, SHINee, BIGBAN, GOT7 and others. Individual KPop artists will surely be there as well, such as G-Dragon. 4. The most awarded KPop group by the Golden Disc Awards is Super Junior. Super Junior has received 19 awards, including Album of the Year and Best Artist of the Year. Since 2014, EXO has received Album of the Year awards for 4 consecutive years. 5. KPop fans are uber-excited. Judging by the reactions, shares and comments to this announcement, Filipino KPop are definitely getting excited for the event.
