Baguio City has tons of salons around town– from Maharlika to SM Baguio, and the sprinkled establishments littered around pretty much every corner of Session Road. As blessed as we all are for our crowning glory, meaning our hair, the decision-making can be the biggest challenge. Where will my hair look its finest? And the practical question: Which salon in Baguio City will fit and both maximize my budget?
The questions are hard ones– especially when you think every salon uses the same product for different prices. Get this idea out of your system, because it will only result in what could be your worst decision for your hair. But for all the ladies out there looking for a good hair fix, I’ve got a Korean salon in Baguio City for y’all called Shine Korean Beauty Pro Salon.
It’s a relatively new salon that just started last December– and guess what: it’s the first and only Shine Korean Beauty Pro Salon in Baguio and the whole of Philippines. So for all the Baguio peeps out there, you are very lucky because it can be found on the first floor of Cedar Peak.
A Review on Shine Korean Beauty Pro Salon, Cedar Peak, Baguio City
I went here to get myself a Digital Perm and hair dye. And thankfully, the salon had this package where I could get a haircut, a Keratin treatment and a Rebond/Perm for a total of PHP 1990. They have whole other packages and it’s listed on their menu, which you can read below.
Now they may look a little costly, but keep in mind that they use both Korean products, and internationally recognized brands like L’oreal, etc. Topped with that are a highly skilled staff with sophisticated equipment. Now I’ve been to other salons to inquire about the cost of my hair treatment, and mind you that other stores offered me the same price– some even more expensive. And with Shine Salon’s early bird and student discount of 20%, my heart– or rather hair, was sold to the latter.
My treatment was a very long one– but I am confident to say that it was carefully taken care of. I had all kinds of medicines placed on my hair and I was aware of the treatment process itself because the staff always made sure to inform me about the things they were to put on my hair– and this isn’t a common protocol in salons I’ve been to at all. The staff was very accommodating, friendly and downright knowledgeable of their profession.
Although I did have an issue with my hair color. The medicine didn’t stick as I had hoped. Fortunately, they knew how to handle the issue and assured me that if in a week’s time my hair color wouldn’t appear as I had hoped, I was welcome to walk back in and get a free repair I rightfully deserve.
While the waiting time may be an issue here if you’re not early enough, it just goes to show how people appreciate the quality the Korean Shine Salon offers. And I can confidently say I am one of them. My hair turned out pretty fabulous– with medium sized curls, volume and a hair dye that I am pretty sure will improve, this Korean salon in Baguio City has kept me loyal. Make sure to visit their salon at the ground floor of Cedar Peak beside Infinitea!
