K-pop sensation BTS climbs 12 spots to the number one spot in the Soompi Music Chart as well as many other online music charts with their hit “IDOL,” released on August 24. Meanwhile, in the showbiz scene, BigBang member Seungri has been confirmed to star in an upcoming variety show with YG Entertainment partnered with Netflix for its global release. The show is tentatively called, ‘YG Strategy Center.’ BTS new hit ‘Idol’ tops charts BTS hit “Ideol” tops the charts yet again. They share the top three spots with Red Velvet’s “Power Up” at number two and MAMAMOO’s “Egotistic,” which all went one place down the chart this week. BTS’ new album “LOVE YOURSELF: Answer” also made it in the Billboard 200 Albums Chart internationally, which is the group’s second no. 1 album. Its tentative title is ‘YG Strategy Center,’ where the series’ star Seungri plays a character set to save a struggling company in its strategic information center or “YG’s treasure chest.” He will be joined by other YG artists like BLACKPINK, iKON, WINNER, and One. Watch a teaser for Seungri’s upcoming show via the official YouTube account of YG Entertainment. The new sitcom will be produced by producing director Park Jun Su, who’s created shows like “The God of Music” and “UV Syndrome.” He will be joined by writer Kim Min Suk who wrote for “SNL Korea.” Catch Seungri on his upcoming show “YG Strategy Center” which premieres on October 5.
