BTS: Too Busy Making Friends To Notice Bashers

After winning the Top Social Artist Award in the Billboard Music Award last May 21, 2017, the Korean pop (K-pop) boy band Bangtan Sonyeondan (BTS) received warm congratulations from its huge fan base. But that’s not the only thing the group received because, like many things, they also received some rude remarks.

BTS gets Bashed for Winning Billboard Music Award Top Social Artist Award

Some netizens from Twitter have been reported to tweet ‘racist’ comments toward the group. A few tweets have made comments about their ‘bowl cut’ hair. One even said that ‘K-pop is irrelevant’ and she continues saying ‘nobody in the States is gonna listen to a Korean song just because BTS won an award.’ Others also mentioned that the quality of award shows have become ‘trashy’ after awarding the group.

Immediately following these bitter posts, was a tweeting mayhem. Angered and hurt fans all stood up to their idols and tweeted back at BTS’s bashers. Asian fans were particularly annoyed at the ‘these Asians’ phrase that kept appearing from their tweets. They say that they were ‘disappointed’ and ‘sad’ that some people just couldn’t be more accepting.

Meanwhile, the group has not made comments on the remarks thrown at them.

BTS continues to build Long-standing Relationships with other Music Personalities

It seems as if while haters are hatin’, BTS is too busy making friends with everybody. They don’t only have a huge fanbase known as Adorably Representative M.C for Youth or ARMY, but they are also making connections with fellow music-lovers.
