Fans of KPop Prince of Pop Rain need not fret – he may still perform in Manila in 2018. This is according to organizers of his Rise 2 Shine Benefit Concert originally slated on Nov. 3 but was cancelled. One of the organizers, artist Val John, assured fans that they are working on a new schedule for the concert.
According to the Manila Bulletin, the cancellation came about after Rain’s management announced their non-participation in the concert because of alleged dishonesty by an entity involved in the concert. To date, the entity has not issued a formal statement about the allegations.
2018 Schedule Being Worked Out With Rain
Rain is a very popular KPop singer and dancer, having started out as a solo artist in 2002. He is also known as an actor, for his roles in the romantic comedy Full House, as well as Hollywood movies like Ninja Assassin and Speed Racer. In 2010, he filmed certain scenes of the KDrama The Fugitive here in the Philippines.
The Bandera reports that according to two of the producers, Val John of Star Music and Elena Castelltort of Yeppunonnie, they are working with Rain’s group to agree on a schedule. They hope to continue the concert because it will benefit communities in Marawi City after it was devastated by the siege. An official announcement will be coming out as soon as an agreement has been made.
They are also promising fans who may be disappointed now, to watch out as they are putting together something bigger and better for them to see. They also hope that the same line up of artists will be available.
Ticket Refunds Accepted, But May Be Valid On New Date
Organizers have announced that those who bought tickets may opt to get a refund. However, as soon as they have firmed up a new date, they will also make arrangements with the venue (Araneta Center) and TicketNet to honor tickets on the new schedule.
