Kriesha Tiu, Chrisha Choo

Kriesha Tiu a.k.a Crisha Choo has come a long way. Since impressing the judges on the popular Korean TV reality show “K-Pop Star 6: The Last Chance” in December 2016, she now becomes the first Filipino K-Pop Idol. Kriesha finished second place on the show and now, she will be debuting as a solo artist in May under her agency, Urban Works Entertainment.

Kriesha Tiu debuts as solo artist in May

A report by Korea Boo confirms that Kriesha will indeed be debuting as a solo artist in May. This came through an official statement given by Kriesha’s agency, Urban Works Entertainment. The statement read, “We are currently preparing for Kriesha Tiu’s solo debut which is planned for May. The schedule has not been confirmed yet so there may still be changes in the release schedule.”

According to the report, Kriesha will be the first contestant from the show who will be making her official debut. Her agency even said that they have been preparing for Kriesha’s debut even before her appearance on K-Pop Star 6. Kriesha’s agency said, “We have been working on this since before her appearance on K-Pop Star 6. Since she appeared on the show, we delayed her debut. We are working hard so she can debut without any flaws.”

The judges were so much impressed by Kriesha since her first audition in December. Since then, her audition has gone viral on social media. The judges were so surprised to find out that she was Filipino and not Korean. You Hee-yeoul, one of the judges, said after watching her first performance in the show, he wanted so sign her right away.

When the Filipino-American teen made it to the Grand Finals, she again captured the hearts of the judges. Music producer JYP even called Kriesha the ace. Kriesha is known as Chrisha Choo on the K-Pop stage. She grew up in San Francisco and went to Korea to pursue her dreams. Kriesha made it and is now the first Filipino K-Pop Idol.
